Default ebay suspension/paypal limitation for high priced item?

Hi, I have been selling small items on ebay and using paypal for a few weeks now. Today, however, I just found out I will not be able to go to the superbowl, which I have tickets for. I have two tickets that are very good, and will probably sell for around 13,000 on ebay.

My question is, will my paypal account be limited as soon as the buyer sends me the funds for this much? I have a fully verified premier paypal account....I'm basically just going to use this money to buy some other products on a website via paypal, so I won't need to withdraw it to my bank...will i have enough time to buy the goods without paypal limiting my account?

Thanks.

If u work fast enough, you will most likely have at least an hour before they limit you. There are no guarantees with paypal though.

Also, is this an account with ⊗⊗⊗⊗ info (name, address)? If not, then you have more of a chance of the limitation getting lifted soon because at least you'll have a SS # and any other type of documents they request.

But yeah, if you work fast enough, you may be able to clear the empty the funds right before they limit your account...I mean if you have $13,000 worth of stuff u want to buy.

ya, it is ⊗⊗⊗⊗ info, but I have it verified...and ya, I will just buy 13K worth of goods from a seller that accepts paypal so I can resell and make maybe ten thousand back, but it's better than losing the entire 13K...
I just didn't know if paypal had some kind of automatic limititation they put on or if a person had to do it.

If they actually do limit you faster than you can spend the money, just refund the money to the buyer and explain to him that paypal is suspicious about the transaction. Worse that can happen is he will leave u neg feedback. If he does, you do the same to him. Then do mutual fb removal.

So either they'll limit you and you'll refund, or you'll spend the money.

Unless the seller you buy $13000 worth of stuff from doesn't send you the item(s) for some reason, you can't really lose.

Why not just offer the buyer a 5% discount to pay with cash/ other??
Paypal will get 3 % anyhow.. if youre dealing with $13k--why buy junk? get the cash, Or even if you did a fast transfer to a friends paypal- they maybe limited also- plus- you got 3% on the front end and 3% on the back end..
Normally, whenever i sell naything over $10k- which has been a watch, a dough mixer, 2 pizza ovens and a new hermes engraving machine-- i meet the buyers and request Ben Franklins...PLUS- How ill you insure tickets for $13k? Can the buyer do a charge back?? (alot of variables here)-- also how about a local scalper??

It's $13,000. Too high an amount for paypal.

Many ebayers likely forces you to use paypal for cars, real estate, etc.

For $13,000 I'd freaking either meet the buyer in person or do something like COD and registered mail or something or have someone do special delivery and show the tickets to the buyer in person and the buyer signs that they did get the tickets. $13,000 through paypal or even internet credit card is horrible.

If paypal sees $13,000 in your account, they may freeze it and it's horrible!

dude for 13,000$ take a friken airplane to the guys city, take a limo right to his house, then bring him the tickets in a diamond encrusted envelope, then take a private jet home with the cash...will still be less than paypal fees.
of course im joking about half of that, but for the amount of fees paypal will take from you then give you an insane hard time to get your money out, you are seriously better off flying to the guys house and giving him the tickets in his hands....
just tell him to pay you the airfare for you first through paypal..then you just subtract that when you arrive at his house to get the cash.

okay, im pretty sure i am going to take paypal just because I need a lot of paypal to buy a new line of supplies for my store anyway...i'm not too worried about the fees even though they will account to over 300 bucks.

My question is, will I even have time to get the cash out of my account, or will paypal instantly limit my account as soon as the buyer sends payment? how long will i have? thanks.

i appreciate all of your thoughts/comments so far.

$13,000 * 0.029 (2.9%) = $377. That's the paypal fees I think.

Dude put the money in your bank account and buy supplies from a seller who has a merchant account.
