why do some people report listings?
 

i'm really puzzled why some people go around snooping others auctions on ebay and clicking the report button then we end up with listings removed or mc198's etc im sick of dreaded emails and suspensions.

Im currently working on getting back on amazon.

Amazon is even worse than eBay in this regard.

Why do people report listings? Eliminate competition.

On Amazon it is absolutely CUTTHROAT!

eBay is the kiddie pool, Amazon is the shark tank.

Well, I'm glad you find this at an early stage, now it's time to get used to it. Those kind of people will never be successful in their lives.

They can't do anything else but mess with other people and be nothing but a thorn.

Mostly competition. Sometimes its just people being internet heroes. They are regular users of a site and are self proclaimed internet police. They LOVE reporting any infraction because "its against the rules".

I've been emailed by such people advising me I've broken some rule in my listing [Like mentioning options] and I need to edit. Not a buyer, not a competitor or there would have been no warning. Just some loser that has too much time...

Kinda like on the TV show "Bewitched" when that neighbor across the street made it her personal crusade to spy on Samantha.

well all i can say is they are sad f....... i wont swear.

but they need to look after themselves and leave others to there own business

A Long time ago go, when I Got my first "Warning" from another User, I Basically Responded and told him to mind his own Business,,,,,BAM,,,,Listing Removed,,,,,7 Day Suspension,,,,,So don't take these Morons Lightly,,,they could cost you an Account,,,

Exactly - that's the point of getting numerous accounts going - hoping to avoid both ebay killbots and righteous competition/do-gooder bidders.

YEA that sucks! i know a forum where they like to report ⊗⊗⊗⊗ items if they think is ⊗⊗⊗⊗ when its actually legit and none of there business and they post a listing and its time to gangrape the listing till its down. sucks.

If someone was to ever report my listing/s and I find out who it was, I'm ending their eBay career. That will result in reducing those snitches. :heh:
