this is very fundamental but I am still curious
 

Everyone is having good luck using there real information with there cards on file with ebay right?
I am under the impression that they dont have a way to check what information is associated with a credit card. By information I mean address.
Do you have to use a gift card if you want to use a different address, or are you ok with a prepaid debit card?

A gift card and prepaid debit card are the same thing.
The advantage is you can register a gift card to any address. So when you order a gift card using your credit card you use your real info. But you can register info for the gift card (your recipient)

You don't want to use a card with your real info if that info has ever been used on ebay before.
