How to avoid linking PayPal to EBAY

Does paying for an item by PayPal link your eBay account?

I don't mean the linking so you can get past "PayPal account" required or to do the immediate payment for buyit now. But the way PayPal works, just to send money it retrieves data from eBay. So if I pay for a transaction in eBay by PayPal, will it link the accounts automatically?

Jonas, how have you been able to get around the paypal required/immediate payment required type auctions without the link leading to suspension? There are a few items I would like to bid on right now but I've been led to believe that doing so would be death to my user name. Thanks

Is there a way around the paypal linking?

I want to buy some items, not just to gain feedback, I really want them! However I've been highly concerned with these "paypal required" and "immediate payment required" auctions. Ironically, I use them myself on occasion, but I've never tried to get around them. Has anyone found a way to use them without linking your accounts, or if you did have to link them, were you able to do it safely without causing a suspension? These items are ending in a day. Quick replies are appreciated! Thanks :)

P.S. Mods, please don't delete or add this to another thread. If needed I'll delete it myself in 48 hours. Thank you for the courtesy.

Jack

this was already discussed in the other paypal post..

Which one? I don't think this is the same thing as checkout. This requires paypal. That's all it says. Thanks

(sigh) I knew this would happen. Well, if anyone could answer sometime this week it would be great for future reference. Thanks ;)
