question about getting back on eBay
 

Hello everyone,

I have been reading the forum messages and have found some very useful information about not getting caught with a new ID on eBay. I have a question that hopefully someone else has experienced.

A few years back I filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy. It was a real tough time financially. eBay was one of my sources of income, but also one of my sources of debt! I included my ebay fees in the chapter 7 filing and had them discharged.

My question is, what are my chances of getting back on eBay with my old ID. What do I say to them? Or should I just give up and start with a new one?

IMO just like in th BK get a fresh start.
What was so special about the user id anyway?
I try to pick id's as different as I can when getting back on, thinking it might be one less way of them linking

HI- My thinking is two fold:
1.) If they got stiffed for their fees, thats in their system, and even though theyre big- they probably red flagged you
2.) Paypal runs credit checks, so you are a high risk now with a credit score about 3-400..

Start fresh.
You said you filed the chapter 7 a few years ago so the bankruptsy is still there cause it takes about 10 full years before thats over, so start fresh with new info.

I kinda fiigured that I would have to start with a new ID.. wanted to check anyway though. My old one was a good ID with over 2000 positives and only 2 negatives, so it would have been a great ID to get back on with. I just need to make sure I stay back on this time. My wife is starting college soon, so we need the extra income. I have already taken the necessary steps of getting my trade name, I'm going to get a business checking acct w/ a debit card so my name is not on it.

Oh, a few more things I have done.. I have moved since I had been suspended from eBay and have a brand new computer. Does that help my cause? I also have gotten a business address at a local UPS store.

MB- Just a thought-- if that acct had over 2,000 pos. It wouldnt hurt to try to save it, (In my opinion)..

Try to log on, see what the acct says? Maybe even chat ? ask them why the acct is down?
-- DONT mention the Chp 7, and if the fees are NOT that much, maybe just luck..
You pay them a few hundred bucks,, WALA-- the accts up?
Maybe..just Maybe?
_ An older acct with 2000 fb is worth money!
