listing high priced items right away will that get you suspended?

There's an item I want to sell for $450 along with a couple of other items at $140 a piece and I just opened this account today would that be going too far at first? I'm really trying to be careful here.

k1ley4evr 01-29-2008 01:24 PM

i got a week old account and listed a few ipods. one ended yesterday already and 2 more is gonna end tommorow. so far nothing happened yet

DogFacedBoy 01-29-2008 04:28 PM

I think it might be random...like a road block that stops every 10th driver to see if they've been drinking or not. Just got a new acct up and running and have 3 things on there ending in a few days which should sell for a total of $150. I have a bunch of new designer clothes(real with receipts) to put on but I'm waiting because I don't want to look like a hit and runner

tvaughan08 01-29-2008 06:06 PM

don't do it, I sell phones, and i always wait till my account is 30 days old before i list them, cause when I try to list right away I get suspended.

DogFacedBoy 01-29-2008 06:40 PM

I have an account that is well over a month old, but only been selling for less than a week on it. So far it seems healthy, would like to keep it that way

ebayhateluv 01-29-2008 08:49 PM

HI- Yes, totally agree.
I also have some $400-$600 items, but every time i try one a newbie acct- goes down,, abusing..
So, be careful..

DogFacedBoy 01-29-2008 09:07 PM

Is your starting price high or a reserve or final?
...might make a difference

ebayhateluv 01-29-2008 09:11 PM

HI- IN my case start at 99 cents, reserve is anywhere from $449 to $599..

I have no problem to listed my first item Fujitsu notebook with my 0 feedback 2 days old account. I got suspended when I listed my 2nd item on it. So i suggest you list it one by one.

On my new accounts, I'm taking it slow, 2-4 items first month that max

Auctions.
So far so good, and I'm about to start selling for real

Re: listing high priced items right away will that get you suspended?

My question kind of goes along with this topic. I have been using my Aunt's information (with her permission, she is not on ebay at all) and an IPBurger VPN.

I have had the ebay account open since July 2017 but only recently started selling steady for about a month. I have a few Maserati auto parts. My son is a mechanic and these are left over from jobs. They can be expensive. Is that something that might get the account flagged if I sell one every week? I can't afford to have this account flagged at all, I lost my job and need to make money. I wasn't sure it was a dollar amount, or the fact that it's Maserati. I don't want issues with VERO or other other sellers reporting me. All are original in boxes so that's not a problem but I have seen people mention
how other sellers report them for vero even if it's not.
I have had no issues with the account at all. Ship right away, no returns, no cases, etc.

Re: listing high priced items right away will that get you suspended?

parts are better than whole goods,it is not like you are selling Masarati,Rolls Royce cars !
taking your own photo and use your own description is better than using stock photos, parts are not high risk.
if it comes with a box, show the box as well.
did you search past and present auctions if any one is selling such?
does your son still have the receipts or the name of the supplier ?

Thanks for the response.
I do use my own pictures and the parts are all stamped by Maserati in the original boxes. I have seen parts for sale on ebay. I just was afraid to have my account flagged but maybe I'll start with a less expensive part.
No, he doesn't have receipts but he got most of them directly from
a parts store on line or the Maserati dealer here. It's been a few years though.

I dont think you will have problem,no even sure if Masarati will come and look around, how many ⊗⊗⊗⊗ M parts are out there?
It is not even eco feasible to ⊗⊗⊗⊗ ,how many M cars are produced each year?
I would expect fOreign car repair shops could be searching for parts of older models on EBay.

It is possible - very difficult to say 100% sure without trial and error but it's a contested market potentially with chance of f*ke and vero threats

You don't know what you are talking about.

Also, Maserati parts come from Italy, dealer techs don't return them, ever.
I've seen $8000 worth of parts for a Maserati scrapped instead of being returned.
Know what you are talking about before being insulting.

Thanks, I think I'll stick with other avenues.
I had no idea there were ⊗⊗⊗⊗ parts.
That's why I love this forum!
