Listing VIOLATION--or Not??

Hi:
Heres a Violation, that is NOT intentional, but just an FYI to folks:

(so Be careful!!):

16020631xxxx - CUMMINS TOOLS IMPACT SOCKETS!! LIKE NEW!! LOOK!!

The listing was removed because it violated the eBay Keyword Spamming policy. The violation occurred when you included the following information in your listing:

in title - LIKE NEW

powerbid 02-13-2008 11:26 AM

come on ebay get a life.. whats the matter with you.. just need a reason to take listings down..... is there someone outthere where we can list with bit freedom :)

gitrooman 02-13-2008 11:40 AM

I would have guessed it was removed cause of caps, but for saying "like new"...thats dumb.

mantisinc 02-13-2008 02:36 PM

Wow, I thought keyword spamming was using other product names in the title so your listing appeared on irrelevant searchings.

Oh well.

aspkin 02-13-2008 03:20 PM

Hmm, seems they don't like superlatives now.

simplyjimbo 02-13-2008 03:50 PM

Seems that eBay is at its best again.

Seems that they forget about proper keyword spamming, planks

Well actually Ebay has been doing that for a new time.. And I'm on Ebay side with this one.. The word "Like New" can confuse a buyer because it can mean alot of things...

Its either used or new.. No Like new...

GreenBean 02-13-2008 08:23 PM

It seems now that how you can word your listing is different for everyone.
I guess "like new" and "used" are too definitive? Please!

Ballsack 02-13-2008 09:38 PM

I think if you're going to write "Like New" in your listing ebay should have you fax in the information proving it's "like new" and after they approve it then your listing can go up. :)

sycore 02-13-2008 10:06 PM

If you use common sense, like new can be used to to describe an item accurately. For instance, a dvd player that was used for one day. If you take the literal interpretation, yes it is used, but for all intents and purposes it is as closest to new as you can get with out being "Brand New". It is just semantics.

I would guess it's the preposition 'like' that ebay doesn't like.

scouse12345 02-14-2008 04:36 PM

"like new" " as new" had pleanty pulled for keyword spamming, tend to believe most are reported by other Ebayers, Ever taken the time to read some of the community Forums>? right pack of f*ckin wolves and back biters, they delight in reporting items

insertionfee 02-15-2008 10:52 AM

Speaking of the forums.......................I was kicked out of the forums, had my posts deleted, and was threatened with suspension...... all because a newbie asked, "I have ten widgets to sell and one is on eBay. Can I sell the other nine off eBay, or do I have to sell them all here?" I replied that he was under no obligation to sell anything that was not already on auction. Big Brother slapped me on the hand and said to never, ever, advise anyone to sell outside of eBay.

Ugh, that's a topic I'm hot on.
I HATE the people on the forums, they will do all they can to rip you apart. They wull then go through all your items you're selling, all the items you've sold in the past, and all of your feedback, and then pick out all of the bad points on those.

I would never dream of going there for help regarding ebay.

I agree on the too nosey. Half the time when I ask a question on a posting ID, people ask for my selling ID for no reason. They just want to cause trouble. When they do have it, then they cause more trouble.
