Ex-room mates BF got me banned... is there any hope??
 

I'm hoping someone here can shed some light on this situation for me. I haven't contacted ebay yet because... I don't know, I guess they make me nervous.

Basically what happened is this. My Ex room mates boyfriend took my old lap top from our house and was able to get into my ebay acct, email accts, etc. I wasn't using ebay at all for several months so I never noticed what was going on, but basically, he listed a bunch of stuff on my ebay account, ran up the fees and then not only didn't pay the fees but didn't send the items to people. When my main account got a temporary suspension for not paying fees, he opened a second account using my info and basically did the same thing. He even ordered a debit card from PayPal and was using it to spend the money he was collecting... actually, I'm betting it was his girlfriend, my EX room mate who was using it.

Anyway, I never knew about any of this until about two or three weeks ago when I happened to log in to one of my old email addresses and found that my account was banned. (like I said, I hadn't used it for months) After talking to some friends, I was able to figure out what happened.

To make matters worse, my DAD called me today to say that HIS account got banned... I think because I was living with him several years ago and we signed up for our accounts from the same place and probably on the same computer even.

Does anyone know if there is ANY CHANCE that ebay will at least re-instate my dad if I call and tell them what happened? I was super pissed about losing my own account but now I feel even worse for my dad. At the very least can someone tell me how I can get my dad set up with a buying account? He doesn't sell, he just wants to buy.

Sorry. but they probably will not reinstate either of you. Its too much confusion for them

if my dad signs up for a new account and buys only and never sells do you think he'll just fly under the radar so to speak?

as long as he just buys, but dont try to turn it into a sellers account. Make sure he switch the name up just a little. Like if his name is John R. smith, then he should use John d. Smiths

I'd say you have NO chance of resolving this with paypal or ebay unless you press criminal charges. Even then, it may not happen.
