Mc067

Account was just a few days old so I wanted to go ahead and list one item and after about an hour this is what I got.

Made sure IP and everything on this account didn't match any of my older accounts. Why would I get this for putting one item on, a used item at that.

giggidy123 03-28-2011 11:11 PM

Update- They sent me another message saying that they are limiting my account untill I can provide further information on my identity and want me to call them. Anybody have any experience on this and what to do? Should I just call and guess at some of the questions they ask?

Imback2010 03-28-2011 11:21 PM

Is this a stealth account?

jbluntz 03-28-2011 11:37 PM

That's what happens when you don't get the account established first by browsing or building feedback and also when you list a high risk item for your first item.

giggidy123 03-28-2011 11:38 PM

Yes it is a stealth account, if it wasn't I would have no problem calling them.

giggidy123 03-28-2011 11:39 PM

Thanks jbluntz, I think I will just ditch the account. Which sucks because its a waste of a new bank account I just got.

giggidy123 03-28-2011 11:49 PM

I would of bought a few things just to get some positive feedback going but how do I do that since I have my real name on the stealth paypal account? I don't want to deposit money from the bank account cause it would give away my real info. Would depositing with a gift card be the best idea?

almosteverythingg 03-28-2011 11:53 PM

I think ebay will view this as feedback manipulation but I am not positive. I am in the same situation, I want to build feedback fast!
P.S. How do you post a thread?

giggidy123 03-29-2011 12:00 AM

I look at people that have month old accounts and get 20-25 positive feedbacks and then start selling like crazy. I think they only view it as feedback manipulation if you buy a bunch of items that cost less than a dollar. There is a button at the top of the page that says post a thread.

You could still actually save it. I saved 18 out 21 in the last year. Go For It.

I love calling them and pretending to be someone esle....lol

they think but they have no idea (knock On Wood)

Just have a print out of the the info and be calm.

giggidy123 03-29-2011 12:08 AM

Yeah I will try it, might as well. Also I just checked on some people that are selling the same item as me. Account is one month old and has 25 positive buyers feedback and is selling like crazy. Already has sold 35 of the same item that I was trying to list. What would be the best way to deposit money on paypal to buy, since I don't want to use my bank account with my real name.

jbluntz 03-29-2011 12:11 AM

Moneypak is a pretty quick way to add money to paypal, there's a $4.95 activation fee though.

almosteverythingg 03-29-2011 12:12 AM

You can attach a credit/debit card or a gift card

giggidy123 03-29-2011 12:14 AM

Ok I will do that, thanks again jbluntz. On the moneypak cards do you have to give them your real info or do you just buy cards that already have a certain amount on them?
I don't want to be linked to a suspended account with my name.

jbluntz 03-29-2011 12:18 AM

Not unless you load more than $250, you just give the cashier however much cash you want to load then go back and enter the code in paypal.

blackfire 03-29-2011 07:39 AM

If its an ID verify email just make the call. I don't buy into the idea that you have to build up feedback to sell anything. As long as your not selling high risk items.

madmuppet303 09-24-2011 09:20 AM

I got it after I listed a couple of Football cards. WTF. I'm going to call and try to save it though because I've saved a couple in the past just by calling them.

well maybe you should buy into it coz this is what we call building strong foundations for a solid stealth account!

I'm also testing out the idea of not buying stuff but jumping right into selling on a new account. So far so good, but I only sold one thing :D

I got the idea when looking at guys like this: eBay My World - icesummer1988

Just over a month old, probably sold over 300 things, hasn't purchased a single item.

Now if you guys were talking about selling higher risk than random garbage for pennies, then yeah I would recommend building up feedback first one way or the other. I've had accounts sell $600 in the first 2 weeks of selling but they all went down quick-ish.

Way to contradict your bogus claims.

What do you mean? I was trying to say that it's probably safe to sell tons of low-risk stuff right off the bat but not higher risk/more $$ stuff.
Which is pretty obvious, but main point was that it's not necessary to buy stuff to raise feedback, you can just sell right away.

UnderBites08 09-25-2011 11:04 AM

You can't sell right away period. Not with ebays new policys
