Ebay suspended my account indefinitely

Hello I am now one of the growing numbers of people who have been done wrong by the auction site giant Ebay. To summarize,
My account was suspended indefinitely due to a low DSR score. Since our accounts are reviewed on the 20th of each month, my DSR score has been improving as the month's go by. In September, my last bad DSR will fall off and my account will be in good standing again. My question is: Once this happens, will I be able to list again on Ebay? Thank you in advance for your answers or advice.

GreenBean 08-28-2011 06:12 PM

ebay hardly made your DSRs fall did they? :pop2:

YOU operated the account and failed to meet their standards. It's clearly stated what they want & expect.

I appreciate that it is a real blow and think it is good you've managed to improve your DSRs. I hope it means you now know what to do to stay on top of any problems.

Now the bad news, possibly you might be able to list again. It's not a given.

Welcome to the forum. You'll read lots of stories from others slapped in the face by ebay. :juggle:

+1 for GreenBean...they certainly didn't. I know it sucks, but you need to watch your DSR's, especially the shipping ones, and take certain steps to ensure they don't dip down again. It's possible, but I doubt your DSR's fell 30% in one day. IE, this didn't happen overnight due to one crappy buyer or evil eBay.

Now, that is assuming that you get your listing privileges back again.

this seems to be a YOU PROBLEM.....how hard is it to honestly ship out your items the next morning?

ebaysale 08-29-2011 10:28 PM

Not worth the hassle. Move on to new stealth accounts. Turn and burn in the new order of the day. Always have back up Paybay accounts ready to go. Once you know what you are doing it literally takes 5 minutes to make new accounts.

If the account is still in good standing and you fixed DSR then I would use it. Learn from mistakes and dont let it happen again. I assume you have some age and feedback to this account. If it was limited I would say move on, but if its still active then try o work with it. Items I sell on an account that has 100+ feedback vs 2-3 generates higher revenue so its worth a shot. :pop2:

Yes it only takes 5 minutes to make a buyer account. However a seller account with feedback and possibly a bank account attached. Not so easy...

Sorry - I don't buy that at all unless you are happy to work for small amounts.

I like an account to generate income - and all of mine do that. I couldn't churn the sort of funds I do with 'turn & burn'.

@GrannyT ~ do you open stores with your eb accounts? If so, how long do you let the account(s) age before opening a store?

GrannyT 08-30-2011 10:11 AM

Once I have more than 20 items on regular sale I open a store. Usually 2 - 3 months

Restrictions lifted

Hey thanks so much for everyone's feedback! I have had the account for ten years, but that doesn't seem to matter to anyone. When I call customer support, I'm told (1) my old DSR's will fall off overtime, putting my account in good standing once again or the less fortunate (2) I can never sell with my account again and there will be no further reviews. According to my dashboard, my account will be reviewed on Sept. 20 and my last bad score in shipping charges should fall off. Has anyone's account been restricted and once their DSR improved was able to sell again?

bobble 08-30-2011 10:54 AM

If I do open another account, can I do so on my home computer, using a Firefox app that changes your Ip address? Can the new bank account be an online ING account, but still in my name? Thanks

GrannyT 08-30-2011 11:01 AM

Yes - clean cookies and beacons first

Is there a Firefox app that changes a computer's IP address?

Yes, some feedback is good, but with ebay buyer protection and paypal protection high feedback is no longer that important.

No, it literally take me 5 minutes to make new ebay seller account and new paypal. Open new account at paypal with gift card. Open new ebay account with new $3 sim card in unlocked phone or $5 disposable tracfone. Link ebay to paypal. List 10 items, pass online quiz. List 100 items. Sell 2K worth of stuff, withdraw money on to the next set.

VERO selling is a totally different kind of animal than regular items.

Firefox add on

Firefox has a plug in called Cocoon, and it's supposed to change your IP address.

bobble 08-31-2011 02:42 AM

You make it sound so easy! Can you tell me what, if any, information has to be legit, like name or address. Was your account restricted or suspended? Have your five minute set ups been successful so far?

kpizzl 08-31-2011 08:02 AM

cocoon runs on a proxy server so might not be in your best interest

cbiazevich 09-07-2011 01:05 AM

my account said it was restricted indefinetly. Does anyone know if I am able to bring the account back to life and how to do so and if it is even possible.

rsot 09-07-2011 11:18 AM

Call them up - have a chat - try to reconcile - if no success then the account is over. Not much else to do sadly but start FRESH.

GrannyT 09-07-2011 02:06 PM

You are wasting your time IMO
:pop2:

rsot 09-07-2011 02:55 PM

Give some hope for the effort GTran ha
