Help! Will this work?

hey everyone!
i just found this site today after hours of searching and boy am i glad to know there are others like me in the same predicament! greetings fellow ebayers ex ebayers and soon to be reinstated ebayers :) and a big thank you to apskin for the whole post abt changing IP addresses, that is definitely good information.

i have a bit of a weird situation.i tried searching this forum to see if this has been discussed before but i didnt find any answers, hence this post.ill try to make this as concise as possible and try not to let it get too boring.here goes...

i have about 5 accounts suspended, all registered in india.i also have:

a one month old account registered in india which is still up
a 5 month old account registered in australia which is still up

recently i tried to list items for sale using the indian account and i was able to do so.the following week when i went to relist the items i recieved a 'global trading limit' error. This is what it said:

Attention !
You have exceeded your global trading limit. At this time, please contact eBay Customer Support at cbtquestions@ebay.com and provide a list of all of your eBay User IDs. We will review your accounts, and existing limits on your accounts, prior to removing the global trading limit.

so i emailed them and mentioned my 2 ebay ids which r legit and they replied back by saying:

Thank you for contacting us in regard to the international trading limits on your eBay account.

The reason the Global Trading restriction occurred was because your Paypal account is linked to five or more eBay user ID’s. Please respond by listing the eBay user ID’s that you own or that are linked to the PayPal account you use. If you are unable to offer a list of the eBay user ID’s we may not be able to proceed any further.

Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Nathan
eBay Customer Support

The suspended accounts are obviously connected to my Paypal account (If ure a user from any of the Asian countries it is mandatory to have a Paypal account attached to your Ebay to sell) so I cant email him with a list of all my IDs as my 2 good accounts are gonna be killed as well.and i cant remove the suspended accounts from my paypal account either.

The Australian account which I have, was opened up for me by a friend in Australia.so will the IP address logged to it be the australian one used when registering the account or the last one indian one I used to login to the account, which is the same IP as all my suspended accounts?

Unfortunately I just discovered this site today and till now did not think of disabling any cookies or changing my IP address :(

My thoughts are to, in the following order:
delete cookies
change my IP address
open up a new paypal with a different credit card
connect the single australian account to the new paypal account
hope and pray that the customer service agent who replied my last email hasnt made a note of the ebay ids i mentioned! (i did change the username today tho)

will this work? what do u guys think.would there be a better way to go around this? any advice would be greatly appreciated.

cheers,
machine

Yup,and they only started this nonsense after they got sued by Louis Vuitton and Christian Dior.More info on that here:

Im hoping a new Paypal account with only one attached account should work.

Moderators- Sorry if pasting links is not allowed, feel free to delete this post if you have to.

Modee,
Are you allowed to have multiple users for a single Paypal account? Like if I emailed Ebay and said that the suspended accounts all belong to my 'brother' would that work? Heh

Cheers,
machine

Modee thanks for the reply.I thought so too.I usually ignore all previous accounts that have been suspended, thought wanted to try it differently with this one.Any thoughts on if opening a new Paypal account will do the trick?

machine

You might have trouble with the australian account since your IPs are so far away. EBay has suspended accounts just for this reason. But it couldn't hurt.

Thanks Aspkin.I will try it out this week and see if it works.Whatever happens I'll post the results here.Hopefully it will help someone else with a similar issue in the future.

Btw I tried out the IP Checker site that you mentioned and it gave me 3 diff IPs on 3 diff days.Actually its the same IP but the last 2/3 digits vary.Does this mean I will still need to change my IP add? I am using a cable broadband connection.

Regards,
machine
