Cleaning Your Tracks - Do you need to delete history as well?

Ok we all know you need to clear your cache and cookies, but is there any way for ebay (or other sites) to use your browsing history against you? For instance if you were visiting X site under X name on X day, would that history link be traceable back to you if you still had that history on your computer and logged in under a different user, or is it all about the cookies and cache?

Personally I'm a bit of a packrat and like to keep my history pages around a while to revisit any time I feel the need. Will this be likely to bite me for doing this at some point?

Post your thoughts. Thanks

It's just your cookies, it not even the cache.

LOL, so I've been "over cleaning" all this time?

I use CCleaner to clean my tracks

Question,

What kind of internet do you and most use? Dial up. cable. dsl?

Because I keep reading that people are changing their Ip easily and often?

JackNoMore 04-29-2007 03:45 PM

Can't speak for anyone else, but I find dialup the easiest to deal with. It's a bit slower but I've never had TOO much trouble with internet usage and it's as easy as disconnect/reconnect to change the IP. Additionally I don't tend to download tons of media to bog down my system so it works for me.

Usually you can request your ISP provider to provide you with a dial up number. I know SBC DSL has that option. The purpose of providing the dial up is for customers to use it if their modem/connection is down (but can be used at anytime).
