Put the wrong PASSWORD TODAY!!

Hey Guys, I put the wrong password from a different account. I used my password from another stealth account and entered it accidently on a different stealth. Will I be limited or linked!!!!?

mosguy 09-08-2011 01:16 AM

no u wont get limited or linked

lasvegas 09-08-2011 01:18 AM

are you sure? Man, eBays system is crazy ... I was about to break my laptop in half and say forget it! hahah

airsealed 09-08-2011 02:22 AM

I've done that quite a few times, but it's just a basic password routine, it doesn't cross reference. In my experience, eBay is actually quite lenient as to what it allows its sellers to get away with.

BiN4RY 09-08-2011 02:40 AM

OP you're being excessively paranoid

GreenBean 09-08-2011 03:10 AM

It happens that type of error. Nothing bad should come of it.

Of course be careful next time :)

GTB 09-08-2011 06:25 AM

nowt happened.......YET! muahahaha

no..cant see there been a bot for it....YET! muah/ never mind

People give PayPal and eBay way too much credit.

They are not watching our every move, they've got millions of users worldwide who'll be logged on at any one time, they simply don't have the resources to track every user.

FandangoKango 09-08-2011 01:31 PM

If it did not log you in then that means it won't link you since nothing was recorded. Once your logged into an account is when all the recording data starts. :)

nak 09-08-2011 01:34 PM

I did it a few times too and im good so u should be fine

Sandy D 09-08-2011 02:16 PM

We all have done this and I do not remember reading that anyone got shot for it yet.

It did not allow you to log in so you are good.

GTB 09-08-2011 02:25 PM

yeah thats the overall though on this

you was not logged in so it should not of took any info that could link you to different accounts

nowt you can do anyway even f they did

imjustme 09-08-2011 04:31 PM

I've done it a few years ago, and last week again. It's no problem. PayPal has millions of users and it's impossible for them to cross-check every single login. It would be a waste of resources and useless. You have nothing to worry about.

gigainternational 09-20-2011 09:53 AM

How about if using old( limited account) password into new account will bring down the new one?

rsot 09-20-2011 10:58 AM

Password alone will not cause problems - don't repeat login failures though.

Sandy D 09-23-2011 05:11 PM

OP

Do you have a way to keep track of your passwords for each account.

Before I hit the log in button I always look at my wall of accounts and double check the password.

I always double check my work like this. I work way too hard to screw up something but the password alone wont cause any issues that I am aware of.

The biggest issue if signing in on an IP that was used with another account.

Re: Put the wrong PASSWORD TODAY!!

I just entered the password to my treasured account into a stealth one by accident. So I checked the forum, searched, and saw this thread. Good to see nothing happened to anyone before.

I ended up doing it AGAIN by accident right after.

Hopefully I'm fine!

Been there, than that, nothing really happened.

Re: Put the wrong PASSWORD TODAY!!

Same story from 2011

Once off, it is rarely an issue.

Be vigilant in future.

Or smash the computer.....
