New Account with LLC or Coporate S
 

I'm still debating if to open my new account in LLC or Corporate S. My question is, if I have a new account with LLC or S Corporate, later on when I try to raise my selling limit, will eBay ask for a copy of my ID like an individual account would? Because my ID has been expose with a suspended account already. If, I'm just saying if my new LLC account got turn down by ebay, can the EIN # be easily change to open another new account? Thanks!

I dont see how they would be able to ask for ID. What would they do with walmarts account? ask for ID? If you go LLC you should easily be able to verify with utilities, invoices, EIN, Bank accounts, etc with that LLC's name on it. You only get the ID check if nothing else was accepted that you submitted.

I would talk to an attorney on whether you should go LLC or S corp. They both have good and bad things going for them and they would be able to sort what is best for your situation and potential growth down the line.

Most legal advice atleast locally here is pretty easy to setup with appointments. Usually $200-$500 for a few hours over a couple weeks. You can shop around though as they are quite different in prices.

Why not just open a Sole Proprietorship and get an EIN number? (Unless you have done this before). Does ebay require ID if you do it this way?

It all depends on your history with them and if they beleive you are getting over on them or not. Sofar on mine they have not but I am selling VERY VERY low risk items. I have heard of someone getting asked for ID plus the EIN but think it was BS info to stir up false info

I really like the Sole Proprietorship and EIN myself. I am slowly getting DBA's in the same of stealth accounts and going business accounts on all eb/pp accounts with EIN. Add a PO or UPS address and it all becomes very legit. Choosing names more wisely like "johnny rocket" example, so a DBA will sound just a bit more realistic then say DBA "John smith".

Be careful doing that. More than one will be a mountain of paperwork in april if you arent used to doing it like that. Especially this far into the year.
