I am (well, was) a new ebay user, just signed up on 2 October, I signed up specifically to buy vintage watches. Since I joined I purchased 1 watch and 1 pocketwatch, and bid on around 10 other watches (both purchases were paid for within 24 hours of winning) the bids were not followed up on as the price was too high for the item. Earlier this week my account was suspended until I verified myself, which I did sucessfully and was then unsuspended. After this I bid on a couple items, but no purchases. Yesterday I received a MC999 suspension "Your eBay account has been suspended because recent account activity has raised serious security concerns." I called eBay twice today and was transferred to the Trust and Safety team who essentially told me that I was bidding and buying on high risk items (watches) and ebay had suspended me indefinatly and there was nothing that I could do about it, there was no escalation, just that ebay sees me buying and bidding on watches as too high risk for ebay to allow. Really - what I was buying was too high risk for them! About 15 minutes before I was suspended I bid on an item that was around $1000.
My question is, does anyone know what could cause a buyer only to be suspended forever? Especially one that paid for purchases right away and left positive feedback for the one item I could. |
