This is why you should keep your phone number active in ebay...
 

So I logged into an old ebay and this is what I saw....

1. Receive an automated call at the the phone number we have on file for you.

2. Remember the PIN (Personal Identification Number) you receive during the call.

3. Return to eBay and enter the PIN.

Be grateful that eBay is giving you such an easy method to allow you to resume operation. Try having an invalid phone number with Paypal :suspicious:

No option to add a new phone number?

They do, you have no choice but to add a new phone number when you see that message or else eBay won't let you do anything else.

Not sure if am exactly correct but from my experience and testing this with a couple of accounts the only way i got these messages were by not logging in correctly. By that i mean same logging in the same account with different cookies ect.

@Fandan - how long was this account idle? did you clean out cookies or something?
