| | | cinders4 | 12-05-2011 01:09 AM | ebay stealth getting immediately limited.... k so I have never had trouble setting up stealth paypal/ebay accounts before
but recently the last three - had no problems setting up paypal, no problems setting up ebay but the next day the ebay account is straight away limited and they are asking me ID security questions and to phone ebay, never had this trouble before
the paypal account stays fine but not ebay accnt, has ebay increased their security? I can't understand why I've never had trouble before but now suddenly I am |
| GreenBean | 12-05-2011 01:54 AM | ebay au ( & ebay of most other countries) have changed the manner in which they deal with new accounts.
Started months back & almost daily more reports of new accounts being 'stopped'.
Usual notice is any of these MC999, MC010 0r MC011
Did you have anything like that? :suspicious: |
| cinders4 | 12-05-2011 05:01 AM | no nothing like those errors, just next time I log in it asks me a series of personal security questions
like "do you own a brick and mortar store?"
"where you married to xxx name?"
" did you live at this address..."
etc etc
and no matter what answer I put it says information not verified and says to contact paypal, does this everytime now I open an ebay account and immediately and they are on US based accounts not australian accounts |
| GreenBean | 12-05-2011 05:20 AM | Those are not error codes I quoted.
They are suspensions notices.
I did not realize you were using ebay.com: then if it's being detected you are not 'there', then this is usual.
Explain why they say contact paypal, if it's ebay asking the questions :spy:
Give better info please |
Interesting post developing - hope for more info from the OP. |
| cinders4 | 12-06-2011 03:37 PM | sorry I meant to type they ask to contact ebay, not paypal, having zero trouble with paypal. I don't know why, I hide my ip, have it set to US ip, never had trouble before dunno why it's being marked as suspicious now
It asks all these questions, no matter what answers I give it says the information cannot be verified please call ebay, which I won't do, at that point I abandon the ebay account. I know some people are bold enough to talk to ebay on stealth accounts but I won't. Maybe I'm paranoid but phone calls are recorded and if it ever came to it I'm not getting caught due to a voice match |
doesn't sound good
"hiding ip"
"paranoid"
"phone calls recorded"
"getting caught"
:pop2: |
| seanws30 | 12-06-2011 06:46 PM | the hiding ip nailed it for me
let me guess, you are using a vpn service? |
| cinders4 | 12-07-2011 01:33 AM | vpn service? absolutely NOT
no I've got the stealth guide, use the techniques in that, have been for a long time and never had trouble till now. seriously it seems like any accnt I open I come across this with ebay. I thought ebay must be doing it to everyone?? as in new security measures |
| GreenBean | 12-07-2011 02:20 AM | What are you missing about the fact that ALL new accounts are being subjected to similar questions???? The GAME changed. It's much harder to play your way now.
What you might have thought of saying was I am trying to list on ebay.com and have been asked questions ....
If you want to use ebay.com, you need a brand new method where all of your info can be verified :peace: |
| cinders4 | 12-08-2011 01:21 AM | What are you missing about the fact that ALL new accounts are being subjected to similar questions???? --- Greenbean, not missing anything, that's exactly what I was asking, is everyone being subjected to these questions, and no one had said yes or no, but you just said yes so thank you, you answered my question! |
| BradBigglestein | 12-14-2011 10:38 PM | My friend made an account and tried to get his selling limits lifted a few days ago. He clicked a link to lift the limits and it took him to a page where he had to verify his information. He looked through the information it had and was all correct. He clicked continue or whatever and it said "unable to verify information" and then gave him two other options to lift the limit. Any idea why they couldn't verify? It was all correct information. |
| FandangoKango | 12-14-2011 11:11 PM | If it was stealth information then his info is not in public records. Ebay uses public records information to cross match information. If it was a real account then maybe he answered the questions wrong or public records has his information wrong. |
| BradBigglestein | 12-14-2011 11:48 PM | It isn't stealth information, it is his real information.
I don't get how they could use public records when people's information changes all the time? Some people have two different addresses, phone numbers, etc. |
| newjerseymax | 12-15-2011 12:52 AM | Every account I open now sends me to verification. I call. If the account is already lost then why not give it a shot? Plus you could use your accent to your advantage. |
| Azeryama | 12-20-2011 10:14 PM | Lol, it's something you guys aren't doing right. Stop using entropay to verify selling accounts. It's not going to work anymore, and if it does, it's tough since they increased their security.
There are a lot of rules that they had in place, but it seems like now, those rules are enforced and the ebay "agents" have become ruthless. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 12:49 PM. | |
