adventmma | 04-24-2008 08:40 PM | Ebay password retrieval process? OK, so I am looking into maybe buying a pre 11/07 account, but I'm also exploring other opportunities. I got wind of two accounts from like 2004 that were never used whatsoever. Problem is the password. Here's what's going on.
When I try to log in and purposely use an incorrect password, ebay says "Your user ID or password is incorrect". Now I know the username is correct, but the password is invalid. But when I use the right combo, ebay gives me this: "Enter a verification code to continue", and gives me two options 1) Change my password now and 2) Change my password later. However, when I enter the verification code, the system says says that the code's invalid and gets me back to the login prompt. It's an endless cycle, and I'm not limited to the number of tries, it seems, for I've tried many times now. Here's what I think is going on. The password is a 4-letter password, and by today's standards ebay considers that as unsafe, so it supposedly tries to give me the opportunity to change it now or later, but the entire procedure fails, probably due to some glitch or something. That's what it seems to me.
Any suggestions? |
