I was actually selling from U.S with an U.S. registered account, how eb*at took me down using this reason?

They might've send you a wrong email, and that has happened before. Try giving them a call.

a call is needed to clarify things with them, have all your data in front of you & best be easy going and nice o them asking for their advice on how to solve this.
