Gmail and ebay link... What's this?
 

So, I have an ebay account that I've only used for buying an occasional item. But sometimes, when I'm checking my gmail account that I registered my ebay account with, I get this item in the bottom-right corner of the browser. Now people here say that gmail filters out those small-image tracking elements embedded into emails, so then what is this? Never mind the yellow part. I crossed out a part of my username.

I haven't noticed this, anyone else?

I've seen it come up several times now. It doesn't show up on a regular basis. Like I haven't noticed a pattern or anything like that. I know that I've had the paypal plugin installed at once point, but it's since been uninstalled.

OK, I got it to appear in a predictable way.

These emails are really copies of ebay's messages. I communicated with another ebay member and he replied to me. All via ebay. We don't know each other's email addresses.

Now, the top email link is from the ebay user and next email link is from my own message to him. My message is expanded on the picture. WHen I click on the top link to see that user's message, that's when the aforementioned green text-image appears at the bottom-right of the browser. When I collapse the message, the image goes away. This is most definitely a script at work, (most probably a javascript code) because this green text-image is just pure text on a green background, and the way it's positioned (right over the scrollbar)... you can't do that with anything but javascript. What do you make of this?
