Paypal account closed. Paypal send me a survey
 

So, I was closing a few loose-end paypal accounts yesterday and today, documenting the names/addresses/phone numbers (everything) that I've ever used on Paypal, so I'll never use them again. Correct me if I'm wrong, but when Paypal emailed me today with their give-us-your-feedback-on-why-you-closed-your-account, it's clear that even though the account was closed, they still retained the email address (that's how I got the email in the first place) and the full name used for that account. So, bottom line is that though the access to the account is terminated, the account is still kept in the database with all the info that was used on it.

Before closing the accounts, I even changed all the info to yet something else, to force the values to change. Am I to assume that the old and new info is being retained, no matter what?

If if you close your account, your information will be in Paypal's system for years to come. Same as in eBay.

So to start anew, everything has to be ⊗⊗⊗⊗, except for the bank account info.

Does it mean that I'd never be able to have a legit account under my real name, address, or phone number? Everything has to be hidden behind VCC's, phone# forwarding, po boxes, etc?

If your real name and address is linked to an account that was limited, then no.
