Indefinite Selling Restriction - Linked to another account, but I only have 1!
 

I got the infamous MC008 eBay Indefinite Selling Restriction - Our decision is based on evidence from our records. We're not comfortable with your selling practices or business model...

Upon calling the Trust & Safety Dept, they informed me to appeal and write an email, so I responded to the email informing them that I have one ebay account for the past 12 years, with 755 positive feedback and I sell just 2 or 3 items a month now. I told them I live in a rental unit where people are moving in and out all the time (it's near a college) so there could very well be another user under the same address that has moved away and not updated their address.

A rep from the Seller Risk Management dept replied saying this...
- Thank you for contacting eBay in regard to the restriction of your
account. From your phone call, it’s my understanding you would like to
know why your account is restricted and appeal the restriction.
In reviewing your restriction we've noted the following concerns:
Your account was found to have the same contact information, financial
information, or similar account activity with the following restricted
account:


Pretty apparent the rep didn't even read my appeal as he was repeating what I already knew and his email is so generic. It didn't give me an option to respond, so now it's considered closed on their end with no recourse or appeal.

Any idea what to do or who to contact???

move on and make a new account

This is not fair at all. They penalize people for no reason. they don't even read emails or anything. They do what they want to do. They don't even care you are 12 year old user. This is how we are treated. I really really hope ebay and paypal go down the gutter soon !!!!

I don't want eb down the gutter, I want a REAL competitor for eb/pp.
OP, I'd say keep trying and call, email. I know your pain of this ebay ignorance, believe me, but you need to keep trying.

It sounds crazy! ebay CS really sucks. My new account got restricted just because I logged in with a China IP during my business trip and tried to sell a few non-risky items. Crab! Ebay sucks!!
The best way is to buy the ebay stealth and start it over or you can buy another verified ebay account from one of our member(not me). Check the market place.

Good luck man! We all experienced the similar situation like yours once.

Nothing is called "fairness" in ebay or to them. They just want to make no mistake and get the paycheck. I was really angry when my account got restricted for a stupid reason. But not any more now! I don't care since I learned new way from ebay stealth to handle that situation.

Seriously now, yes you're right. However, not all CS agents are created the same; It's worth it for OP to try another one.

Yeah, I will be here for a while. I miss my family though. I got bad luck this time. Waiting to go back and try making a stealth account.

abc - Keep calling and contacting. Keep repeating that you have no other accounts.

Is there anyone in your household that you can be connected to?

It may take a while but sometimes you can clear up the confusion with the "linked" accounts that aren't actually linked.

That is a lot of linking info right there!

Once you read the Ebay Stealth guide and do abit of research you will find that if you put abit of effort into getting a Stealth account its easy to get up and running again, you just have to think outside the box, the best way to retaliate against ebay is to out smart them.
