could eBay see my IP when I am using email

Hello, I have several eBay accounts on several PC's with different IP's. My question is can eBay see IP or any other info If I am using eBay and PayPal registration emails on on PC. I am not logging in to eBay or PayPal, I am just using yahoo email to check sales of each of account. Thanks for answers.

ebay can only get your ip if ur logged into ebay.

They track IP but ONLY when you are logged on to their site. They don't tend to look at ALL your activities.

Do not click on any eb or pp link in yahoo mail.

Unless you check your IP and it is good to go.

If you did not sign out of eb or pp you could by accident be logged in.

If you use Gmail through a web interface then it is fine as replying to mail will not include your IP address in the mail header only that of Google's mail server, so you are safe.

This is not the case with any other mail provider as they will all include your IP address in the headers

IP address is contained in the mail headers when replying to email using Yahoo.

Disabling images or using plain text does not alter that.

you can open your email anywhere and ebay cannot see the ip unless you click the link inside your email

uh oh! I am using a mac, and on my "personal" user profile I have all my stealth emails organized so I can stay on top of everything from one place, then log into the correct user profile to do anything necessary.

does mac's mail system do this?

Make sure to disable images/links in your email settings and you will be fine.

Yeah, this.
I remember reading somewhere that some sort of tracking cookies get released onto your computer when you are viewing images from PayPal/eBay.

yes it is true, just disabled the images in your email, it will link your email to paypal.
