Account suspended

Hello all,

I'm new to the forum and i recently got suspended by ebay all of a sudden. Here's what ebay said.

"The suspension is due to several discrepancies in your registration information as outlined in Section 9 of the eBay User Agreement"

I've been a memeber since 2007, with only 8 feedbacks, all positive and rated as a buyer. Paid with Paypal with no issues whatsoever. However I started to sell some of my used jackets over ebay last week (Yes, that is my first trade as a seller) and 2 of them were immediately sold. Buyer paid me immediately with Paypal and funds are pending since i'm not a frequent buyer/seller, which i have no problems at all.

Here is the drama. I was surfing over ebay in the afternoon the last minute and all of a sudden my account was suspended. The funds which the 2 buyers paid me through Paypal were also being held, investigating. I was like WTF?
Paypal requested me to send them some proof of address, postage receipts, driver's license etc for their investigation and i've also appealed to ebay right away. Representatives from ebay then requested me to send them proof of address, copies of credit card bills, passport, blah blah blah...

The 2 buyers are starting to email me asking me whether I AM STEALING MONEY FROM THEM since they received notifications that my account is being suspended. To be honest i am really frustrated about what's going on with ebay. I'm not doing business nor trying to make a lotta money over ebay. I'm just trying to get rid of a couple of items which i do not need, which led to be appearing like a hacker or thief trying to steal money over the internet. How does that sound?

I have still around 6 items for bid right now, which is gonna expire soon. If i get negative feedbacks because of late shipping/late reply or whatever reason i would wanna know whether i can request ebay to do something about their stupid act.

Thanks so much.

it is flagged, possibly for inactivity and a sudden selling spree - may look like a hack....or something else was flagged eg your ip....

so you are restricted on paypal and ebay?

you will have to wait for investigation regarding the money in paypal.

but as for ebay, did they request anything from you or are you suspended permanantly?

as for goods, inform the customers that you were limited and are working with paypal, and you will send goods when money is released and if it is not released, you will request they get their money back. Customers often do not realise you are unable to refund them if limited.

Hey thanks for everyone's feedback.

oompaloompa : Yea i'm currently being restricted on Paypal and ebay.

Ebay wouldn't let me access my account pages, and they even deleted some of the messages as well as my purchase history and hence i could not even figure out who has been bidding on my items, and so i could not inform the buyers that i'm limited.

One thing that pissed me off is that since ebay deleted records i couldn't locate the items i've recently bought, which means i couldn't track the parcels. My bad i didnt wrote down the tracking numbers on paper but who knows things like this would happen. I have paid through PP and transactions were all completed.

So what they asked for is my identification proof which includes a passport photo, a local ID photo, a drivers license photo, 2 kinds of bills with my address printed on and finally, all of the PROOF OF PURCHASE AND OWNERSHIP OF ITEMS I LISTED.

I've bought the items like a few years ago and i can assure you that i do NOT have the silly proof of purchases anymore so yeah, we will see.

welcome to the forums

oompaloompa could be right about the sudden activity

i would be inclined to look at what you are selling ?

jackets ? Branded jackets by any chance ?

rsot 05-29-2012 08:41 AM

Branded jackets would be high risk.

oompaloompa 05-29-2012 01:21 PM

they may accept pictures of theitems with your user id on paper or your hand holding them. ie to prove they are in your possession, explain it to them they may allow it

hksp1 05-30-2012 05:03 AM

Ahhh....that explains.

I had a couple of USED Arcteryx Gore Tex jackets sold and a few other branded outdoor jackets up for bid. All 100% authentic stuff, of course.

Has anyone had a resolution for the "suspension is due to several discrepancies in your registration information", because this is exactly the same situation that I'm dealing with, I've been asked for data to prove my identity and address.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks!
