Ebay Suspended but paypal OK---Should i close paypal and open a new one
 

My aged ebay was suspended 2 years ago. my pay-pal account if fine and still open. Could I closed down that account and open a new one in my name and get new bank , cc, new everything. but only name and ssn same and connect that to a new ebay account? will it be safe since technically the old account will be closed and all the links were on the old account?

No that will not work. That info can not be used on another account

Not necessarily true. I had the same thing happen to me back in 2008. I had my eBay suspended. I closed down the paypal account like 60 days afterwards when I couldn't have any charge-backs or issues. I then proceeded to wait like another two or three months. I did re-register a eBay and paypal under the same info. However, I did purchase several items to build up 5 to 10 feedback before I started selling with it again. It has been 4 years and no problems. However, the wild card is I never had a SSN attached. I still think if you close it down and reopen a new one a few months from now buy start off by buying a few things and list slowly you have a good chance of being ok.

@makaveliagain, while I see what you have done - you have to realize that for the greater good, your move is not absolutely safe...considering stealth methodology and all that.

I just had my ebay account suspended and they tried to do the same for my paypal. i contacted paypal directly and told them that the account is used for a number of other parts of my business (how i get paid with my copy writing and business management services) and that it still needs to be active. they have allowed me to keep the account intact as is. i guess if they see that there are more than one sourcing for money going thru the account, they don't close it.
