Abusing Ebay?? Please Help!!

This is really horrible...I have now been back on eBay for 3 months...I had a feedback rating of like 60+ Earning a decent salary... and then all of a sudden I just received the suspension e-mail for abusing eBay...Do you know why they do this??? I need help.....I am so confused...I got other accounts up, and I will start using them but I want to avoid this from happening...

Do you think they linked me??

The e-mail reads....

Dear "xxxxx" (xxxxxxx@xxx.com),

We regret to inform you that your eBay account has been suspended due to concerns we have for the safety and integrity of the eBay community.

"Abusing eBay" of the eBay User Agreement states, in part:

"...we may limit, suspend, or terminate our service and user accounts, prohibit access to our website, remove hosted content, and take technical and legal steps to keep users off the Site if we think that they are creating problems, possible legal liabilities, or acting inconsistently with the letter or spirit of our policies."

Due to the suspension of this account, please be advised you are prohibited from using eBay in any way. This includes the registering of a new account.

Please note that any seller fees due to eBay will immediately become due and payable. eBay will charge any amounts you have not previously disputed to the billing method currently on file.

Regards,

Community Watch Department
eBay, Inc.

That's ususally a notification that you've been linked to a suspended account. That's what I always got when I signed up new accounts back in the day.

It could be just that you listed something risky, too. I just got one yesterday when I listed on a US account with US address, IP and everything. I kept the account totally separated with Windows user accounts all the way from sign-up. So they couldn't have linked it.

To me it's a general suspension notification. It could be anything really. A majority of the times for me I found it was because of being linked. But other times there could be no way I was linked but I still got the message. It could be a risk thing, maybe you listed too much. It's unclear really. What did you do right before the suspension? That can usually tell you why you went down.

Well, 3 days before the suspension.....I switched computers, I went back to using my old laptop that I used to use the first time I got suspended aboout 5 months ago....But I created a new Windows User, and signed in using dial up....new PayPal...etc...

The other thing is, I was selling high price items...about 20 of them, but I was doing it since I opened the account about 3 months ago...and everything was going smooth until this happened........this sucks....

Could it be that I was linked? or do you think that someone could have flagged me to eBay as being high risk....

Do they reinstate you for this type of violation?

imjustme 06-11-2008 05:22 PM

I doubt linked. You probably listed high risk or high price items with not enough feedback for their trigger system.

That's amazing that they can suspend you for selling high price (risk) items...I was selling exactly the same items for 3 months and everything was going well....

Im going to try again with my new backup accounts but I hope I don't receive the same suspension....

Nope...I doubt u got linked because I've been linked before and they usually tell you which account they linked you to.

All this means is you need to start back up and keep a couple extra accounts on hand in case it happens again. It may be a hassle starting all over but it's actually to your advantage once u realize the feedback doesn't mean all that much at all. Eventually you'll be suspended and that number u built up to will just be taken away. Most people just look at your percentage anyway
