| | | | | Impact | 10-24-2012 07:21 PM | We've restricted your listing activity! WHY? MC999 I have an account that is legit, and it is not a stealth account. I have been selling on that account for about 6 months, and had that account for more than year. It is a Power Seller and Top Rated seller account with more than 200 positive feedbacks, no open cases or any negative feedbacks. For the past 4 months I have been selling at a constant rate. About 3 months ago I deiced to open another account under the same name since eBay states that a seller is allowed to have multiple accounts. The reason behind that is to increase my sales due to monthly selling limits. So after waiting 90 days, on my second account they automatically increased selling limits to 150/7000. So I figured I should start selling on that account now.
Afterwards, I listed my items on my second account and sold about 7 items. Now this items are considered High Risk items. After few days, I received a message on both of my accounts with a restriction. Now in your opinion if I call them is there any chance that they will lift the restriction. I really don't understand what caused them to restrict me from the category since I had no complains or any open cases. Any information would help me, I am planning on calling them but I thought I should first ask you guys before I do that. Below you will find what I received from eBay. Quote:
MC999 Your eBay selling account has been restricted
To help keep eBay safe, we've restricted your listing activity in the Electronics category. You won't be able to list any items in this category. However, you can still list and sell items in other categories.
This restriction will remain in place indefinitely. Our decision was based on evidence from our records. We're concerned about your selling practices and business model when selling these items, and we don't feel they promote a positive buying and selling environment.
Please remember that you can't use other accounts or register new accounts to sell these items on eBay. If you do, your accounts could be limited, restricted, or suspended.

Thank you! |

Consider that as 'lucky' - you are not outright banned. I dont think calling will help - in fact, you can pretty much jinx your account even more.
You should get new stealth going and retry - dont use similar listings. All the best. |
| Impact | 10-24-2012 07:58 PM | Thank you for the reply. Well the only issue is that I only sell in the electronics category. I just dont want to lose this account since it is a Power Seller/Top Rated Seller/200+ feedback. I have another legit account for a back up (different ip/computer) and I am about to buy 3 stealth accounts. Quote:

Just buy the other stealth accounts and build them up like you have been building up the others.
Look into selling other items on the TRS accounts.
But do NOT annoy off the ebay demon any further. |
| newjerseymax | 10-25-2012 09:17 AM | Is it possible you had some complaints you don't know of? |
| imjustme | 10-25-2012 02:01 PM | I would say it was triggered by listing high risk items on a new no- or low-feedback account |
| lisa21801 | 10-25-2012 04:17 PM | I have had that happen when I used private selling methods. Mostly on vero items. If you have ever taken a vero complaint to task and won, they will reinstate. Consider possibly you have listed a vero item? |
| Futuremogul888 | 10-25-2012 05:53 PM | Your limitation might have something to do with ebay's policy against opening multiple accounts to circumvent selling limits. The policy states that you are not supposed to have multiple accounts selling the same product. The only reason they allow multiple accounts is for separation of products. |
| Impact | 10-25-2012 11:46 PM | Thank you for all the feedbacks. I will be calling them tomorrow since I do not have much to lose. I will keep you guys posted to why it was triggered and if it has been resolved or not. I have already purchased my stealth account, and I am running my listings on my other legit account but I am extra careful as we speak. |
| dburnside | 10-26-2012 03:01 AM | You could sell in wholesale section? |
| Impact | 10-26-2012 03:11 AM | I do not believe there is a wholesale sections in regards to electronics. Please do correct me if I am wrong. |
| Duster | 11-08-2012 02:17 AM | Impact,
How did you make out with your call to eBay? |
| Impact | 11-08-2012 05:15 AM | I called in and the representative was very kind and I explained my situation. She further told me that she will actually appeal for me and within 42-72 hours I will receive an answer. However, 3 days later nothing. So, I called in once more and asked for a supervisor. The supervisor informed me that another department handles such situations and I should personally appeal and from her end she will prioritize this case. Until this day, I haven't received any information in regards to the appeal and I am still limited in regards to listing.
However, I have been listing my items in other similar categories. |
| Duster | 11-10-2012 12:08 AM | Good to know. They told me that if I don't get a reply it means an appeal was denied. Good luck! It's a shame what they do to honest sellers... |
Seems like they passed the buck around Impact - ugh low customer service. |

My sales have decreased due to the fact that I list my items in similar categories but on the other hand I have managed to create 3 stealth accounts and within a month I will have 7 more stealth accounts. :) |
Good working at it Impact - have to keep pushing on for sure | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:07 PM. | |
