MC999 successfully reinstated

one of my new stealth got mc999, all listing removed. i thought you can't loose nothing to call, so i called. turns out ebay auto detects suspicious activity like new, selling fast, selling brand item. but when i explained and asked ebay to look at the listings, they realized all i was selling was used brand items. they very easily reinstated everything.

so lessons learned: do not rush with selling. i listed all 10 same brand items 1 day after account creation.

tips i can give: even if you break all the rules, do not be afraid to call. it might be an easy one like i had. and stick to cheap, used, "personal" stuff, so you have very good excuse when it comes to appeal.

good luck everyone! love this forum, happy sharing!

Good to hear sommer - you got lucky.

GreenBean 11-17-2012 07:31 PM

Nice one :thumb:

MC999 can be removed.

It's a matter of working out what to do, what to say.

Again, good job. On to happy selling.

Exactly - congratulations :thumb:

got another mc999 on another account. called and first the rep said oh it is just someone try to access your account, now that you called it is back to normal, have a nice day.

then i was stupid and said btw. ebay removed my listings can you put it back (that was my positive experience from the first post). she looked at it and suddenly told me we have to go through a verification process if you fail you will be suspended.

and yes i failed. 3 times. and here my first stealth account is gone.

lessons learned: there might be different things triggering mc999, it is a new seller related restriction for sure. and ebay is random so sometimes to talk less is than more. and to be greedy will definitely end your luck - like last time i was given 50/5000 and the rep asked it is enough for you? i went greedy and said i want 100/10000, then he connected me to his superviser and i was requested to send in id。

tips: still, try to call. you have nothing to loose if they are going to bann your account anyway. if you don't call they will not lift the restriction anyway. if you call you can at least find out why you deserve to die, and most important, if everybody try and share on this forum we can figure out ebay sooner.

ppl might not willing to share why they succeed in tricking ebay, but come on, every dead man should be willing to share why they were killed. somebody might revenge for you, one day :FF:

I have the same problem... I am agree that MC999 can be removed. When i called ebbay they told me that want to verify my identity after that, they put down MC999

balzac 11-28-2012 08:01 AM

Well yeah, MC999 can be removed, but better is to avoid that. :amen:

I got a MC999 but it's feedback manipulation and I got to wait 30 days. I am thinking of recalling after reading this. I don't think I can talk my way out of that one!

I should try the pity crying over the phone part but no idea! lol.

GreenBean 12-01-2012 08:41 AM

@Ghost

Save it for something serious.

You knew what you were doing was going to push limits.

Go on being stealth & beat them good.

Win win.

Question, when you call do you block the number, so that they can't link the phone # you are calling from?

rsot 12-03-2012 06:20 PM

You cant block your phone number when you call a tollfree number for your information

Depends on which number you are calling.

Land Line numbers can be blocked (402 xxx xxxx etc). Always been the advice here to never risk doing the same with the supposed toll free numbers, 888 xxx xxxx, 807 xxx xxxx).

Preferable to use the same number on file when you call anytime.

This phone number thing is very important, I lost 3 of my account because I called PayPal from the same number, I learned that in the hard way

sommer33 12-04-2012 02:12 PM

why not use google voice skype or any other free/cheap numbers to call? assign every account a number and call always using the same number, should be straight forward.
