Just got in touch with an old friend... He let me have his eBay account that was made in 2005 with 100% feedback (5).

Now, Theres no CC on it and its not a sellers account.

Before I even logged on it, i changed my ip address and cleared my cookies.

I changed the pw/email address... Now it says I can make a seller's account if I choose to pay for the fees with either a paypal acc, cc, or bank account.

Please someone tell me what i should do to keep this account safe.

also do you think changing the pw & email raised some red flags with ebay? should i stay on the low for a week?

Changing any details of the account with a different IP address will always raise flags with eBay & Paypal. You seem okay for now, but don't make any more changes that don't need to be changed. Just add a credit card and start selling.

Also get a working phone number added to it, that's something you do need to update.

Do not link them. Save it for a backup.

Yes, create a new paypal account, look into other payment options etc.

Never link old aged accounts with new ones. If one goes down they will go with it.

The only way I would ever use an old pp account with a newer account is if I needed the money real quick and couldnt wait out the 60 days for a debit card. If not, no way would I link them otherwise.

Personally, I've dealt with some Pre-november 2007 accounts...and I've dealt with accounts I made in 2008. There's really no difference at all unless your gonna add a merchant account to it since u won't have to go through the fax confirmation step. So basically no need to be more or less careful with this account than a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ one you'd make up yourself.
