After reviewing things further I've discovered I used the same prepaid card for two seperate registrations. I somehow put it back in the unused pile instead of the used. hence the mc999.
In addition to this I think I probably posted too hastily after getting off the phone. I allowed them to spook me and didn't allow myself enough time to calm down before posting.
Having said that the implication that I was somehow posting from 2 seperate accounts and attempting to scare people and stir things up was not only moronic but insidious. I was simply worried. As much as I hate ebay it is responsible for a large part of my income.
As far as my actual question goes, it appears to definitely be a lie when the CSR's told me they would be requiring the middle two digits of a sellers social security number for all new sellers. |
