MC054 Item Location Misrepresentation
 

Got this warning today on one of my listing. I don't get it.

Account is US based. The item is drop shipped from France and Item location is France.

Ebay said that the item in the description does not match the item location. That is completely not true. I indicate everywhere that the item ships from France and Item location is France.

I am suspecting a competitor is flagging my listings for bogus reasons. I am surprised eBay did not even look to see if it is true.

Is it worth writing back to eBay and ask them to remove the warning?

Ebay Frowns HEAVILY on Dropshipping when BOTH the item and the seller are located here in the USA,,,,,I can only Imagine that they would Not to pleased to find out that your item is being dropshipped from France, If I were you, I would not Volunteer that info,,,and I would Take a better look at my business Plan,,,Dropping when BOTH the item and the seller are located here in the USA almost always ends up bad,,,Droppshipping from another Country,,,Man, That has NO chance of survival in my opinion,,,Re think that plan,,,for your own good,,

I have been doing this for years, never had an issue - then again I got suspended once and I did not really know why. :-)

Is the problem dropshipping or shipping from a different country? I may using the wrong word. I am using a distribution company like shipwire in France that distributes my products locally. I ship the products to Shipwire equivalent in france for storage and I pass them my ebay orders everyday. It costs me more, but customers are really happy. Less delay, less loss.

Ebay never frowned on that approach over the years.

Can't be sure, but it's likely a competitor or maybe even a slightly ticked off client (for whatever reason).

I highly doubt it's Ebay doing anything to discover this, how would they know.

Now Im Confused,,,Are you selling American Products in France, Via a Logistics company like shipwire ,,,or Are you Selling French Products In America being Shipped by a Logistics Company Here in the USA?

Quite likely you got reported by a customer who was not clear with what you had indicated and was somewhat disappointed.

While eB does frown on dropshipping, what you need to do is probably be even more clear for customers.

It turns out to be a failing competitor spending his day flagging my ads :-(

The ads respect ebay rules. I am not worried. What should I do to stop competitor who wants to go with a bang?

Not much you can do to a competitor if they are on location and know you are not.

They must know the rules and how ebay hated dropshipping.
