You will automatically lose ALL Buyer Protection Cases if your account is suspended

I had an account suspended with MC999 because I sold way too much. An hour later paypal got suspended (which was expected) and I was fine with that and the plan was to wait 180 days until I could withdraw.

Except... that I had a few Buyer Protection cases popup for non receipt of item. 24 hours later those cases were granted in the buyer's favor. The tracking indicates the item was delivered before the Buyer Protection case was even filed. This happened multiple times on this account. Evidently there are some shrewd buyers out there that saw my account got suspended, and knew how to act in order to get free product.

Calls to the Resolution dept at ebay (which has only US agents) informed me that cases cannot be appealed if the account is suspended. They transferred me to trust and safety, which said MC999 suspensions are indefinite and can't be overturned. Even though that's not true (I overturned a MC999 a couple of months ago), in order to overturn it I'd have to overturn the paypal suspension first, which I know isn't happening.

So bottom line, if your account gets suspended, any buyer can file a "did not receive item" and will win.

Moral of the story:
Spread your sales across multiple accounts.

Always buy with a CC for this reason

Sucks to hear but it`s the truth - no recourse if you are unable to operate with the account on these cases

Have multiple accounts to spread the risks

Be proactive with issues

Attempt to maintain high standards of customer service

Always protect your own back

If your item is high risk and you are having trouble selling, let it go or do more research and experimentation.

agree with rsot, experimentation is key in this business

I doubt it would be legit for buyer to win a case without your consent. I would love to see they have written some where in their policy.
