Being given an eBay account
 

Hello all.

I am being given an old active account.
Friend moving house and getting married...
Ebay and Paypal linked
Bank account never been confirmed properly to Paypal. Nor has the e mail ever been confirmed.

I don't want to mess it up and want to ensure do things on the right order.

Any advice from the experts would be appreciated.

take things slow, don't waste an old account, they are very valuable

don't call, don't change address/email/pw all of a sudden

What type of activity has been on the account?

You need to be very careful about what you do AND what you do not do.

Changing info flags the account. The info about the paypal & bank account sounds 'off'.

Maybe this has just been a buyer's account?

You are going to have to nurse it if you make it a selling account.

There is every likelihood of getting holds too.

Is the account in your friend`s name? How much activity?

Seriously though, so much wiser and better for you to create your own account, master stealth and start fresh.

On that account, do you know the status completely? No violations etc?

The account has been used for buying and selling.
Mostly children's used stuff on the selling front. All sorts of tat on the buying front.
Good feedback. Info never been properly verified as the account has just coasted along, and never hit a limit .

If you intend to use it, dont go around changing info - if it's under his real name....have to play carefully on it - like GB stated, nurse the account onto your computer like any new account - buy, browser, dont go gung ho on sales.

I am not a fan of using other people's info (whether to create an account or operate theirs) since so many problems could arise but decision is up to you.

Be aware now there are chances of limits happening when the account comes to life.

This is a proceed with great caution time for you.
