Should I Just Send In My Info For Reinstatement?
Hi, I have been reading a few threads and everyone here seems really helpful. This is my first post in this forum and im just looking for some advice. Needless to say I have been suspended from ebay. I had close 6000 feedbacks (99.1%positive) from individual users and close to 10000 overall(I was so happy after I finally got that green star too :( ) .
The reason for my suspension was I had too many open claims against me in which the buyers did not receive their product. Ebay suspended me for seller non-performance. I was unable to ship out the customers merchandise because I had gotten in a car accident one morning that left me in critical condition. I was in the hospital for weeks. The last thing on my mind was ebay. I couldnt ask my wife to close down my current auctions and contact the bidders because she could barely turn on a computer and we never had any kids (we are both in our 50's). I believe I had about 350-400 auctions going on at that time. Over 60 had sold. None of the items got shipped out and I had a lot of angry customers.
When I finally returned home, one of first things I did was log onto my ebay account and boom my account was suspended (I also had a ton of negatives). I quickly emailed every customer and let them know of the situation, some understood, others thought I was full of it and rest just ignored my email. I sent a refund to all the customers and some wanted me just to send their item so I did just that. I even got an apology from someone who, at first, thought I was full of it.
So once I got that out of the way, and had all the customers taken care of, I needed to decide between opening up a new account or try to reinstate my original account. After giving it a lot of thought I had decided to open up a new account since the original account now had a ton of negatives. I knew I needed a new CC# and bank info so I did just that and I also opened up a new PO Box. My paypal account was never closed so I was ok with that, I just put in the new info. This account only stayed up for about 2 days. Ebay was able to link the accounts together.
I then did a google search on how to open up a new ebay account after being suspended and I found this forum to be the most helpful. So I followed everything step by step on creating a new account. I created a new account with the proper steps but that one got suspended as well. So I have just a few questions.
1. When I created the new accounts I know I was suppose to change the names a little bit. I used a different first name but I used the same last name. Would that have had anything to do with it?
2. I did delete all the cookies but is it best just to get a whole new computer? Can they track anything else down on my computer?
3. I use Road Runner as my ISP, I read somewhere that the MAC address on the modem can somehow link ebay accounts. Is this true? Should I get another modem as well?
4. Finally, my last question. I am thinking about sending in the info for reinstatement. I have everything thats required since all I need is to show proof that they received their item or got a refund and I have all of that. But, because I tried to open some new accounts that got suspended do you think that ebay will now deny my appeal because I tried registering new accounts?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you all in advance.
