Selling Privileges Restricted, but items still listed?

I got the... "Your selling privileges have been restricted because our records show that your account is connected to an account that's already restricted or limited." just now when attempting to list an item.

However, this was hours after I already posted several. I had an account years ago that was likely the cause here. My question is will those items that I already listed, which are still active nearly 24 hours later, remain active or eventually be pulled?

I just don't want to sit here and think I have a sale and then see that they do something at the last minute/auction's end.

Thanks in advance!

Did you receive an email explaining why your eBay selling privileges have been restricted?

Is your seller performance below standard?

ninetwentyfour 05-14-2013 11:08 PM

No, I never got the e-mail/message. I attempted posting an additional item, as noted, and it told me to look for one along with the above message, but I haven't received one yet almost 24 hours later.

The cause is almost definitely having two accounts. I had one about five years ago that had restrictions placed on it for not paying for a few items. Definitely nothing as a seller though, I was always in good standing as such.

Just seems weird, I thought they would have pulled them by now. I'm almost tempted to end a couple that have bids in case it was an error on their part for missing it.

I was mainly just asking/wanting to know if this has every happened to anyone and if they just let your auctions continue on or end them at some point?

If this is the case then your accounts have been linked.

What were the restrictions that were put on the original account?

My suggestion after this is all said and done, pick up the stealth guide to help you to keep going.

if you did not use stealth methods then this is no surprise

read the stealth book before you make more accounts

Eventually be pulled

@ninetwentyfour

I had a similar situation in early April. I was selling foo-foo's and received a 30 day selling restriction. I also had an account in my wife's name selling the same foo-foo's. This was all before I even knew about the Stealth Guide and this forum. The foo-foo's were removed from my acct not my wife's acct. All other legit items I had on eBay stayed, and all GTC (good til cancel) duration items still renewed even though eBay put that 30 day selling restriction on me. However, I could not relist items on my account. Again, GTC duration still auto relisted.

Also, about 15 days after my selling restriction, I called eBay pretending to me my wife for a limit increase. At that point, the rep asked about my actually acct, so I knew that they knew we were connected. But also this wasn't hard to figure out since it was same last name, same address, same 2 IP addresses, same items, etc. But they did not place that same selling restriction on her acct. Her acct was business as usual.

One of those dicey things about ebay.

Luck may be on your side and the items stay up.

I avoid touching anything on an account if it is 'flagged'. Dont consider ending your own listings.

If the associated account is a buying one, ebay may not be as aggro as they could be & may let this lot of items end.

Be interesting to hear if you get any more emails. (Do you still have access to that other account?)
You are really in limbo for the moment.

What would they do exactly if all the transactions finish smoothly and they come back in a month? Take my money?

Or right now, for instance, I sent all 6 listings with a tracking #. What would happen if they pull those listings now?

They wont take your money but they may alert the buyers that the sale is void and 'instigate' the buyers to open cases and claim their money back, causing you problems...even with the tracking number.

Hope it doesnt happen but letting you know that it can

Ebay has been known to tell past buyers you are a bad seller.

They actively encourage buyers to seek refunds EVEN when positive feedback has been given.

It's a horrible thing to have happen.

Yet ebay do this.

Usually depends on the 'reason' for pulling the listing.

eBay sounds like a classy establishment.

Granted, I did fail to pay for an item 5 years ago when I was in my teens, and that is now linked to this account. I honestly didn't even remember, made the listings, and then realized that is why I got restricted.

Thanks everyone for the replies.
