New Stealth Account got MC999
 

One of my Stealth accounts got restricted today. I got an email clearly indicating that my account was linked to a specific eBay ID. I have no idea whose ID this may be. The only information show that the account my stealth was linked to is also a Canadian account. The account has a -1 feedback, no longer registered and it was opened first quarter of this year.

eBay has removed my listing, selling limit changed to "0". They have asked me to call to "request higher limits" to resolve this.

Question: Should I fight to get this back or just ignore and move on with another account.

So, your new stealth account was linked to somebody else's old stealth account...

Bad luck, for sure.

As long as stealth techniques are correctly followed, I see no harm in trying to get the account back. But I have a sneaking suspicion that they will want a copy of a driver's license.

Is it possible that the address or phone number you used was linked to a suspended account?

I am thinking it might be the phone number or address indeed, but no proof at the moment. This is indeed bad luck, all the stealth techniques were followed without problems.

@jeffweico, If I get hit with DL, that is the end of story.

@gotebay, eB does this ALL the time - making mistakes with sending message of a user being linked to a wrong account...the point is not to analyze the old account; the main point is that you have been linked.

It can happen easily with a phone number if it has been reused. Address also possible but little less likely.

Renting a PO with a previously suspended account or getting a telephone number that might have been used with a suspended account is a recipe for disaster. I honestly hope this may not be the trend.

You made the account or was it purchased??

You have every right to rent a PO box.

A phone number might be an issue depending on what service is used.

That is what I am thinking; it may be very hard to run away from this kind.

According to eBay, they sent instructions on how to resolve my problem to the account that is not mine.

Use new phone number and address , I think u cant get the account back , ebay system linked other account means your account is gone , get a new stealth account , read stealth guide , becareful this time ~

Phone numbers are often a problem.

Might be a way to salvage if you have time and patience to call in - ask how you got linked? explain just move...new phone number...maybe reused? Play dumb...but you might be asked to submit ID regardless.

Frankly, easier just to make new stealth especially if account has not had activity yet
