Recovered from MC999 from May :D
 

Got an MC999 on a stealth account back in May and the account is back up and running now, here is what happened:

• VCC verified linked PP acccount set up in May
• Made the mistake of listing 2 items of 50$ and 300$ as soon as I set up the account, no buyer feedback, stupid I know
• Was limited and asked to call within 72 hours...
• I have a female name on the account and my voice is rather masculine, didn't think that one through
• Called within the 72 hours (I think) but I told them I was not the account owner because I thought my gender would be questioned, didn't get me anywhere obviously
• Called today (as someone with a rather feminine name and masculine voice) :lol: was not asked anything about my gender
• Was asked if the address was my home address, if the phone # was still valid (to which I responded "not sure hold on a sec), if anyone else would be helping me with the account, what I sell, how I would ship it, if it was in my possession, and some odd questions about the value including why it was priced higher than similar items and if it was actually worth that much.
• ACCOUNT REINSTATED

Maybe this isn't news to you, but yeah I guess the main concern is being linked. If you get suspended for something else you can probably get it going again, unless they ask you for SSN and all that sh*t obviously.

I'm not sure why they didn't ask me about my gender, I'd actually considered telling them it was a unisex name in some other language... my guess is that the guy who was Indian or something didn't know it's an American exclusively female name. On the other hand it seemed like he treated me more nicely than usual? :confused:

Congratulations on account reinstatement. But bear in mind, just because you've won this battle, doesn't mean the war is over. The MCXXX's may be removed, but they still stay in ebay's system. So now they have extra attention on you. I would suggest to let the account cool down while you work on other stealths.

Yeah definitely. I think maybe i'll do some buying on it and sell some shoes I have for under 50$ a pair, shouldn't cause any problems there I think.

No other accounts for now, I'll probably get some more but for now it's nice having no reason to change my IP

ebay Oping there call center to Phillipines. sell books post picture of it with ur ebay id ..then u wont have this problem .

I also have a masculine voice and this one time I had to call for this one account which is a females under the name Victoria. I tried telling eBay that I go as victor and they weren't buying it lmao. It was a pretty funny situation lol.

Or you could have just changed the name on the account and then switched it back after the call. Wouldn't matter as long as the information they asked you to verify on the account matched what was actually on there. I know for a fact even with the MC999, you can still edit that information.

And the "mistake" you made was actually a newly implemented security protocol that all new accounts will inevitably face.

You have changed name info on the account without through security flags up? Not really a recommended step on handling your PP account...
