| kevinkrg6 | 08-06-2008 12:30 PM | Suspended Twice, How do I get back on? I had a great ebay account selling stuff from home, almost 160 feedback. Did a little bit of dropshipping. I started selling Linux for a few months, (which IS legal, it states right in the Linux license), but after having the account for almost two years I got suspended. Don't know why.
I registered another account today and was like "Wow, I didn't know it was that easy, I should have done this earlier" but then was suspended within 2 hours.
Now I see that they're not stupid and I need to do more to get back on.
What can I do to get back on without spending any money to get virtual phone accounts and such?
(I know I'll have to get a prepaid credit card though). |
aking | 08-06-2008 12:34 PM | Did you change your IP address or delete cookies? |
kevinkrg6 | 08-06-2008 01:09 PM | I didn't do anything the second time.
Right now I have cookies cleared and I'm working on changing my IP address. I don't really know how to do it. I have a DSL network router.
I also could not find where to get a virtual address that would forward to my real address.
I have a virtual phone number.
Once I get all this sorted out I will get a Simon gift card.
I want to use my account to sell custom computers. I build computers as a hobby but it would be great if I could make some money doing so.
Unfortunately both my accounts are suspended. |
you have to get used to accounts getting suspeded and just move on by opening a new account |

Unfortunately both my accounts are suspended. | To change your IP address, all you have to do is unplug your ethernet cable from your router and modem for about 30 secs, plug them back in and you'll have a new IP address. go to What Is My IP Address? - Lookup IP, Hide IP, Change IP, Trace IP and more... to make sure it changes.
Why do you need a virtual address and virtual number? Just open a Wamu account or something and get your paypal verified that way. Make sure all your ebay and paypal info and email addresses match each other.
Nice hobby, yes I would be making money if I could do that! :) |
kevinkrg6 | 08-06-2008 01:47 PM | Thanks so much for the tips.
All I had to do was unplug my router. New IP address.
I have an old Privatephone number, I don't know if it still works, but I don't think it matters. Ebay's not going to call me (I hope not).
I still need a virtual address of some sort so that I can still sell and accept money orders and such.
Could I, though, just make a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ address in my area and link that to a new paypal account and then just only accept paypal?
Then I could also just make up a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ name.
But then when I go to buy something, what do I do about the shipping address?
By the way, is all of this legal???? |

When you buy something, I know it will give you an option of shipping to a temporary address, or you can just email the seller and give them your real address. I dont know if that will flag ebay or not tho. |
kevinkrg6 | 08-06-2008 02:01 PM | Lol, thanks.
If I use my address as A temporary address, that will most likely flag ebay.
Emailing the seller on the other hand, no. So thanks.
But Where can I get a virtual address? Do I just make one up?
And is this legal? |

And is this legal? | Why not just get a PO Box at your local post office? |
kevinkrg6 | 08-06-2008 02:16 PM | I don't need a PO box.
Can't I just make one up? |
aking | 08-06-2008 02:18 PM | Yea just make up an address. Thats option 2. |
kevinkrg6 | 08-06-2008 02:25 PM | Alright, so I got the address now.
What If I set up my whole new account and then it gets suspended again after a few days? How can I prevent this? |
aking | 08-06-2008 02:28 PM | It shouldnt if u follow the steps, change ip, delete cookies, use firefox and use all new information. make some backup accts as well. |
kevinkrg6 | 08-06-2008 02:57 PM | Ok, got a new account up and running.
I hope I don't get suspended, but I followed all the steps.
I made a new account with new info and linked it.
I just need to hook up a simon GC to my paypal account, then I'll be good. |
