Will a MC999 Suspension affect another household account?
 

Will my indefinite ebay suspension affect my husband's account?

I got restricted from selling on eBay due to low seller DSRs over a 1 month period of time. I had an average of 4.8 DSRs and over 99.6 positive feedback.

I misunderstood when they said I couldn't sell from "this account" so I opened another account. Within a few hours, they completely suspended both accounts and I am blocked from selling or buying. Called eBay and it is what it is.


My husband has an eBay account has for some years now. We have seperate Paypal accounts and eBay account and my question is can my suspension affect my husband's account because we do share the same address, we do not share the same last name.

Also, if he changes his address on file with eBay would that help to avoid suspension due to my actions?

Should he not sell for a few days?

Will changing our IP address help him any?

I don't want his business to go down just because of my dealings.

Also, usually does eBay suspend all accounts at once?

Just looking for some answers. I was an eBay for nearly 10 years, and I although I am upset this has happened, I'm actually okay with it due to all the ways they've made it extra easy for sellers...

1. Yes it can due to linking.

2. Changing address will NOT change link if it exists.

3. Changing IP address may help delay a suspension if it's coming but again, the link is there.

4. eB can randomly suspended accounts not all at once.

You need to go stealth for your new accounts - you can only HOPE he doesnt get affected ....sadly nothing is 100% for sure.

If they are linked most likely it will follow soon.

Do not touch his account until you grasp how stealth works.

Probably already linked and not much you can do other then learn how to separate his account from yours as far as user account and ip and hope for the best.

In most cases it will be already linked and will go down soon.

Prepare yourself for some stealth accounts.

Easy for sellers? It is not as easy as you think. A lot goes into properly running and maintaining a solid stealth account. It is not about just opening a new account and off you go.

If the wording of the MC999 says you are not allowed to use other accouts, then at some point your hsuband's account will go down.

ebay will be strict with that too

If you make new accounts ensure you do not repeat the mistakes of this one.

I had 3 accounts linked. One got a MC999 and they all went down like flys.

I called in on all 3 of them after they had ban them and each time they told me they could not reinstate me.
