I was suspended -- does a request for reinstatement work?
 

I had an account with 1800+ feedback that is now banned for copyright infringement. I would really like my old account reinstated, although I will certainly open a new account if I can't get my old one reinstated. Has anybody ever tried this request for reinstatement? And if so, does it actually work?

what were you selling that got you suspended? But yes sometime you an get reinstated. I have many times, But I need to know what you were suspended for?

About a year ago, I was selling Rocko's Modern Life DVD bootlegs, which got me suspended for 7 days. This time around I listed a Doctor V64 unit, which can be used to copy Nintendo 64 games. I did have over 1800+ feedbacks on the account which goes to show that 99% of my listings did not violate eBay policy and it was a legitimate account.

So does the request for reinstatement ever work?

You were still breaking policies. Your not allowed to copy games so thats pushing fraud.

I doubt they will look at you twice ;)

Yes- It cannot hurt--just fax them, the reinstatement form, then a copy of your drivers license, and a copy of a current utility bill..

tbh i wouldnt. he was selling bootlegged stuff twice :)

Well, they'll take it on a case by case basis--How did he get 1800 fb, it all was illegal?

I dont know, I dont sell copies of anything.
But i guess- just the law of averages in numbers, it wouldnt hurt to press the fax button??

Well I already faxed it and physically mailed it in, so I'll let you guys know if it works or not (or if I even get a response)

Just faxed off my info and sent physical copies by mail for a 7 day suspension.

Just got reinstated today.Yesterday I received a question from a possible buyer and was a bit perplexed as to how it got to me since everytime I tried to log in the account it still showed it was suspended.
This morning logged in and low and behold I'm back in business.
Received an Email from Ebay about an hour later telling me we were reinstated.
I sent off the official reinstatement junk last Wednesday so it took 6 days including the weekend.
Another plus is that they removed the neutral feedback dings and we are back at 100% positive feedback.
I'm itching to get back to selling but the VeRO garbage has me leery even though as I have stated before I sell 12 volt electronics and am an authorized dealer for the ALL of the items I sell.
Both company representatives have yielded to my fury but claim they can do nothing since the Netwatchers system is not overseen by either company.
It's a load of garbage but I detest fighting a losing battle.
My 9 year old personal account is absolutely linked to my business account so I have to tread lightly.

My account was not a lost cause but it was still nice to have someone who knows the ins and outs verify or rethink my actions before I moved on them.
I viewed the payment like an insurance policy.

Ebay is a different place now and sellers have to look over their shoulder constantly.
I honestly think someone will sue them again over suspended accounts that effect parents,siblings,friends,co-workers etc etc.
My shop has 3 computers.Loads of people who sub contract for us ,employees or just friends have logged into their accounts here.I've logged into both my accounts at my parents,sisters,friends computers.
Suspension by association I believe is not legal.

Was the reinstatement for MC062? That's what I got and I am hoping to get reinstated because my item was authentic, I emailed ebay with receipts and I faxed the docs also. Im on day 4 now *sigh*

I've had my oldest account, before I learned about stealth accounts, reinstated 4 times, each time it was a suspension for vero or copyright, so with ebay you can never say never, even dead accounts can rise from the ashes.

Day 9 of 7 Day Suspension
 

Today is day 9 of my 7 day suspension. I emailed them a couple times the first couple days and really got nowhere. I was told to wait 10 days. So I have decided to be patient and not rush them. I was suspended for using Vero images on invitations. With tomorrow being day 10 should I continue waiting or contact them in some way, either by phone or email? I faxed my reinstatement request along with a utility bill and drivers license the same day I was suspended. Any info/adice would be greatly appreciated.

You know I got suspend back in Feb for SNP. I took care of all of the negs/nea. everyone was happy and I even had 99% of the negs and stuff removed with feedback withdrawal. I waited around because I was told in 30 days I would be up for consideration to be reinstated. I never heard back got mad and said forget ebay. So 3 mo pass and then I go back to ebay with emails, phone calls, live chat etc, anything I could do. Tried my hardest to get reinstated. BUT I was never told to send in a reinstatement letter or drivers license etc.

How do I go about doing this. I figure what the heck, I can take one last shot at my old beloved account. I had been on ebay since 2000 and had almost 4000 feedbacks!!

So when people say they sent in their reinstatement letter, what did it include or was it a paper you printed somewhere. Please help me with all of this, I'd like to give it a shot! Also what fax # or did you mail it.

Thanks! I sent in my request for reinstatement today via fax so we'll see... to those of you who sent in your fax and did not get reinstated, did you even hear back or they just let you hanging?

Tomorrow will be the 10th business day, so we'll see. I have been patient and not emailed or called. I am hoping to hear something tomorrow. I'll post any news.
