New account MC999, then removed, now MC999 again?

I made a new account had MC999 has usual, got it removed, posted my item $200, sold, next day I receive another MC999, and saying I cannot sell anymore, but next time I wish to, I must go through the option 'request higher selling limits' then I tried to confirm my identity which failed obviously. Now asking me to call again.

I used a new ip/mac, with vmware.

What are my chances of getting it removed if I call? It's the only option.
Now it says I can list 0 items and sell $0

Why would your very first item after you were given the green light to sell again be a $200 item.

You made a new account and sold a large sum too fast/early.

You are a huge risk to them.

They may remove the limits once they show that the items have been tracked and delivered and feedback received.

I would wait for the item to be delivered and then show them that you are a good seller.

Wait for others to chime in.

I have done that before no issues, my first item I listed was $200, then got MC999, it was cleared after the usual call, so they said I can list it again, so I did that like before.

But my question is what will they ask me to do if I call?
They have 2 options which is call or the other option is to link my accounts, and tell us about what selling limit you want.

Ok so I will deliver the initial purchase, and wait for it to be delivered.

PS. thank you both for fast replies and very helpful!!

Just because you got away with it the first time, doesn't mean you will again. On new accounts it is critical you sell low priced, items. Remember, you are a brand new seller in their eyes and ebay/paypal will want to limit their risk/exposure.

Think about it from their perspective. You're the new kid on the block. They don't trust you just yet. You need to prove you are reputable before you earn the right to sell high priced items.

You will continue to have this issue if you open new accounts and try to sell high priced items. Best to take it slow.

Crawl...walk...then run (after 3 months!).

My item is shipped and delivered, just called in, got transferred to higher level, but cannot verify, told me to try on the eBay website to verify. If they said that doesn't work then they cannot do anything??

Likelihood that they cannot do much but you can push back. Forced to call in again.

Such an odd double hit of MC999 for you - I would not have sold the high price item again right away - should have started with low end stuff.

U need to call again talk to trust and safety and ask them where to fax your ID to this is the only way with the restriction u received its because ur info doesn't match a public data base

Then, how did I pass? I also got a limit increase of 100/5k EASY

I got the 2 option:

-through my eB ot the next time you sell.
(request higher selling limits)

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Answer?

Seem like the people who have been doing it wrong (listing too quickly, high risk items & expensive items) get these.

I did not list high risk too soon and too much although I did get the MC999 - why didn't they want to verify my identity?

So which option did you pick verify info or talk to a rep about goals, also did you get the new type of MC999????? that started OCT1 as Corleone pointed out, he has tons of experience

The type of MC999 is not just the easy call , if u do not have a real account unless u are using someone's real name address and house phone there is no way u can pass the verify info option with stealth info. So if u did get the one we have mentioned your limits were reduced to 0/0 and when u call in they send u to trust and safety and they tell u if they can't get a database match than u need to fax ID, and than after u do this you than get the Normal call in within 48 hours or ur account is permanately suspended and that's the cake walk where they ask u is the item in ur possession is anyone helping u , etc...

So if u did get this ur limits go to 0/0 , when u call in if ur not using real info they tell u they need to transfer u to trust and safety , from there u need to produce ID, only option, and than after that and the rep even told me the 2 are not related because I thought the second MC999 call in was just delayed, and than ur asked with the easy questions, and since I was able to produce ID and a utility bill I decided to ask for an increase and was given 40/2100, is this what u went theough both parts????

I never received and haven't received any MC999 in 6 months on new accounts, out of 10 I made in the past week and a half just had this one issue , I also made an account completely free of limits this week,

I feel it's padded security tightening for the holidays and is somewhat random

And my first listing was a Brand New Apple Ipad 64gb wifi and cellular for $700 I wouldn't consider tat high risk now

Keep calling in, persistance often pays off, a limit that one ebay rep wont remove another may remove.

Re: New account MC999, then removed, now MC999 again?

Yep that's the one and of course unless u used a name address and phone connected to each other and in a public data base it will say cannot confirm

Re: New account MC999, then removed, now MC999 again?

If u passes by pushing the button than you had to be using either ur real info or someonelses info , that has been at that address for 2 years and is in the public database if not than it will say can not verify
