MC008 eBay Indefinite Selling Restriction

Hi all,

I received a email from eBay today:

Quote:

Dear,

In order to keep our website a safer place for buyers and sellers, your account will be restricted from selling indefinitely.

Our decision is based on evidence from our records. We're not comfortable with your selling practices or business model, and we feel they don't help to promote a positive buying and selling environment.

Even though you can't sell on our website, you can still use your account to buy or bid on items. For more information on the basics of buying, please visit:
Buying basics

Please remember that you can't use other accounts or register new accounts to sell on eBay. If you do, your accounts could be limited, restricted, or suspended.

To learn more about this restriction, you can contact us by following the intructions at:
http://ocs.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ContactCS&Domain=H&Query=2631&fromH7 1731&target"_blank";

Regards,

eBay Trust & Safety team

I was shocked at this so I have called customer service in the UK who looked at my case and then passed me to the seller account team who looked at my whole account and advised I needed to appeal the decision as my selling account is within eBays allowance and that being banned was a VERY harsh action to take against a new seller.
I am new to selling items on eBay so did a test sale recently and I am still learning the ways to ensure I am a good seller.I even had my allowance increased from 100 to 200 items as we were doing well.

My seller performance is well within ebays requirements, all issues were resolved without ebays intervention as a couple of my items went missing in the post so I opened cases to have my fee's refunded and refund the buyers.
My seller feedback is 100% positive with no neutrals or negative comments, my lowest Detailed Seller Rating is 4.9/5.0 and my lowest Seller performance number is 4.87/5.0 and my Daily performance (As of 04 Nov, 2013) is all GREEN (all at 0.00%). I have worked hard to ensure I am a good seller and to stay within ebays selling requirements yet despite this I have been banned.

I have no idea why ebay are banning poeple with good account status. I was planing on selling on ebay for income but now no hope. Even the guy I spoke to on the phone said he could not understand why my account was banned by someone in the seller allowance team. I have worked hard to build a feedback score of 360 positive comments.

Can someone give me some advice on what I should do?

Welcome to the forums Forcefire - sadly, this happens a lot more than would be expected.

I see that you have been calling but send an e-mail to Trust and Safety team and push harder - dont know what you were selling but could be considered high risk/Vero?

Best to start making backup accounts right away too.

sometimes these things happen. it used to bother me a lot, but once you have a lot of backup accounts up and running it doesn't matter as much (but of course its still annoying). Start those backup accounts
