Questions regarding SSN & Paypal IP tracking
 

I have a couple of questions as I prepare to set up a stealth account.

My ebay account was suspended.

I've got a new IP address, cleaned up my computer and made a new profile in prep for a new account. New address and phone number should be no problem. I'm somewhat confident I can fly under the radar with ebay.

My questions regarding paypal: Despite the bay suspension My old paypal account is still in good standing. Does paypal give that info to EBay? In other words, Can I no longer use the old paypal now that I have my new IP address? I'm assuming I can't (or shouldn't) but if I could it'd make life easier as I have a website that gets traffic.

I plan to open a new bank account with a variation on my name and use the debit card I get with that account OR if recommended use a prepaid card.

I think I understand how to proceed except for the challenge of the same SSN. I'd rather not set up an LLC with an ein. I may be able to use my wife's SSN but that's still up in the air.

I see posts here that seem to suggest setting up using this method, patience and caution will initially work but I'm worried that with further selling, I'll be asked for further verification.

Proceeding with caution as I'd rather do it right the first time.

You do realize that Ebay and Paypal are the same company, right? that being said everything has to be new which includes new Paypal that matches the Ebay Account.

You don't have to use a variation of your Name, Paypal only see's the Account # and Routing #. Because your new to stealth I would stick to banks until you become more involved and get more experience.

The only reason you would want to give a SSN or EIN is if you plan to sell above the 200 items / $20,000 a year. Now if you do plan to go over that limit then you can always make more accounts, how many more? It's all up to you.

I and everyone else who has been on this forum for a while will advice you NOT to use your wife, kids, neighbor, family members SSN or any of their info.

As I said above, open as many accounts as you need if you don't feel or want to get hit with further verification, please remember that Paypal will and may use your selling habits to calculate if you will eventually get to the 200/$20k limits.

I got busted 4 years ago because I used a variation of my name and variation of my address. What was I thinking? Sigh.
