foreign student living in student hostel - ip and pp verification help
 

hi all!

i've spent the last few days researching on how to go about getting back onto ebay after all 6 of my accounts were suspended. i understand that the basic steps are to create a whole new identity when registering on ebay and paypal, as well as clearing my pc's cache and cookies and creating a new user and ip address.

my questions are:
1) is there really no other way to get verified other than opening a bank account? i am asking because i am an international student studying in the UK and it is pretty hard to get banks to open accounts for international students. is verifying the pp account necessary if i just want to buy instead of buying+selling on ebay?

2) i am staying in a student hostel and ask4 is my internet provider. i have called requesting to change my ip address, but was informed that the public ip address cannot be changed; the only ip address i can change is my personal ip address. is that enough to go undetected when getting back on ebay?

You don't need to delete cookies if you have different user accounts for every ebay acc.

1) Try opening a basic bank account. Yes, you need to have a bank acc to get verified with paypal.

2) Do you mean the DNS IP? If you cannot change DNS, that's fine, as long as you can change your IP address, you are good to go.

Hi Karakolio, thanks for replying.

I'm guessing dns ip is referring to public ip as mentioned by the ask4 support guy. Can I I confirm that I should be safe as long as the ip of my laptop is changed?

Need to be the public IP, not your laptop IP addresses that is on the internal network.

If you are just buying then you really only need 1 account.

Get a dongle, that should solve the IP issue.

Oh... Thanks for clearing that up! I was told I am not able to access and change the public ip. Looks like I'll have to "borrow" someone else's wifi in the mean time then.

Using another persons WiFi is also not the best idea, they could already have an ebay account.

Use a dongle or phone tethering.

Dongle or tethering are the easies way to get dynamic IP..
