it requires credit card when registering an ebay account, not seller account

when i registered ebay accounts, sometimes ebay requires credit card when i just register a normal account, not seller before the step of confirm email, but sometimes ebay doesnt require.

what's the reason?

Ballsack 07-10-2007 09:06 PM

Depends on your email host. Which ones have you used? Free ones requires cc verification.

kevinxu 07-10-2007 09:15 PM

i all used hotmail.but the problem is sometimes ebay asked but sometimes not,do you think its because of email addresses?but i always use hotmail

Chris Hanson 07-10-2007 09:18 PM

why do it matter? You will have to use a credit card anyway for a sellers account right?

aspkin 07-10-2007 09:24 PM

That's odd. I created a account the other day using gmail, and eBay didn't ask for a CC.

jonathanmr 07-11-2007 07:05 PM

Thats odd, i always get away registering without cc on ebay uk. When it comes to SELLING then yes, must add cc

Paying your ebay fees

When paying ebay fees can you use a visa/mastercard Gift card to pay the fees?

When I signed up for the new accoutn they wanted a drivers license number to verify the account or a credit card to verify the account...Someone please reply to this.....

I am assuming that you can sign up and pay fees with the gift cards as well as having the card for verification?

Also, how about buying a domain name that gives you free email addresses and then use those addresses to register the account? The domain is like $10/yr and if it sounded like a legitimate business name, it might slide through quicker than a hotmail, etc account. Of course you would have to forward that to another account because all it is is a forwarding address.
