Newbie with a few questions about going stealth

Hi folks, great forum this. I too have recently fallen foul of eBay's flawed DSR system. Having being warned my despatch times were too long, I was recently told my performance hadn't improved enough since January and subsequently restricted indefinitely from selling.

I have hardly sold anything in that time, but what I have sold was sent super fast with an extra dose of effort to avoid exactly this. It seems that my actions were entirely pointless and the die had already been cast.

I've read the stealth eBook and have a few questions:

1. I'm in the UK. I already have a business set up under a limited company, but one of the cards is on my existing PayPal, so I guess that's now a waste of time as I can't use that card or the associated bank account?

2. How likely is me using a variation of my name, I.E. Jim instead of James, and registering my address as my next door neighbour, likely to bring up a flag?

3. I am fine to set up a new user account on the PC and use a private VPN to change my IP address each time I connect. Should I run a VM for account access to make things even more secure?

4. Any issues using a bank account with the same bank, but a separate account completely to what's on my existing PayPal?

I should add that I don't rely on ebay so I can wait 30 days to start listing things. I take it I am OK to buy things as normal on the new account?

I'm a bit reluctant to go to the expense of setting up a new LLC as opposed to just calling myself a variation of my name, but if I have to I will.

Thanks all.

Welcome to the forums.

1. Correct - no using ANY old info

2. Variation of name is good - address of next door neighbour (while not the best option) - the 2 together would be low to draw a flag UNLESS neighbour has account already.

3. Why do you need a VPN? Better ways to get IP than this.

4. No issues - separate NEW bank account is all that is needed...which bank you using?

Cheers for your responses.

So I could use say Jim and number 15, same street instead of James and number 13? (Just an example. You never know who is watching!)

I have a few accounts with Natwest. I believe that one of them has never been used before with ebay, and if it has it would have to have been over six years ago at least.

I'd also like to know, if they closed an account where I used a particular phone number, but I have never used that handset for the app, would they be able to link that at all? Pretty sure the handset won't give them phone number info, but thought I'd check.

Just wanted to check also: they can't link a phone number to a particular handset can they? If I've used a phone number on a banned account but never had the app on the handset, there's nothing to stop me putting the app on there going forward?

Regarding PayPal, should that also be given my neighbour's address? Would I use a pre paid card and register that next door too or could I get away with entering the billing address for that card as my real address, but leaving my personal address as next door?

I have a couple if accounts with Natwest already and I've used the basic account - It was opened online and available to use within 48 hours - the new card arrived in 48 hours also.

Best part I liked is that I could select the branch that "operates" the account so it gives a totally new and different sort code....
