FYI MC999 suspension on new account reversed...
 

Just for your info...I made a new paypal and ebay account two days ago, all unique info, verified paypal, listed 1 item, within an hour I get MC999 and must call ebay, I call from the registered phone number, guy says thanks for calling where did you get the arrowhead you were selling, i say from my personal collection, he says let me put you on hold i need to check a couple things, 2 minutes on hold, he comes back and says ok sir i have checked everything out and you look ok so im going to lift the restriction on your account. I ask did i do something wrong, could he tell me so i dont repeat the mistake (playing dumb) he says no we just like to have our new sellers call in so we can weigh their risk to our website. lol how did he weigh my risk, he asked me only one question......smh :noidea:

yea i just wish i could work at ebay for one day and look behind the scenes and see what is triggering the MC999's, specifically....

Yeah, My last account was like that too.. I just played dumb and said a friend told me to sell all the stuff in my garage on eb lol

I think mostly they need to talk to you to try to scare away the stealth accounts...

I sometimes call them from the registered phone after making one purchase with a dumb question about navigating the site to sell and item etc... After that its all smooth. Also do that with PP. I believe its true that their systems just want to verify the number sometimes.

Yeah eBay has been doing this for a while.. MC999 isn't as threatening as people think it is

Just call them up, it's what I do. MC999, especially at the beginning, I have had a rep tell me that they just do that to verify account "safety, and to maintain the risks of new accounts to a minimum" they are lazy and you shouldn't let a new MC999 scare you, just call them up, you'll be good.

I had this happened to me today. In the past for me it's been a 50/50 success rate, sometimes the account would get reinstated, sometimes it would not and they would ask for me to fax ID in.

Anyways today i rang and they made me fax if in, only problem is im on stealth. i acted like a complete confused newbie etc. but im not sure what made them ask me questions on my public record, like how long i have been living at my address etc..

and ive also come to a conclusion that all new stealth accounts will without a doubt get a mc999 restriction after the first listing.

help would be appreciated. im looking for some help and tips as to how not to get the customer service rep to make me fax id.

p.s i might be getting a bit paranoid but i fell every time i ring its the same woman! i mean literally. i ring using skype , sometimes id succeeded. sometimes id fail. but what i find odd is that im 99% certain its the same indian woman answering my calls.!! ?

I usually make the reps laugh...telling them that its ebays fault as to why I am about to spend all of this money on the cool stuff and yadda yadda yadda....They usually never even ask me anything.

That is a TERRIBLE first item to sell as 90 something % of arrowheads on ebay are ⊗⊗⊗⊗/new......I've done 35 stealths and never had to call in. I'm sure if I listed an arrowhead, my streak would be insta-broken. lol.

Not necessarily all stealth account will get mc999 on the first item listed. some accounts I made wont get it until 2,3 items and some just wont get it at all until months later something else triggered it.
