Got MC999 and listings taken down
 

I had three listings on ebay taken down for VERO violations after being reported by Adidas. Question is, will this be the end of it? Or will I be expecting to receive a legal letter/email soon?

The MC999 should tell you if your account has a selling restriction or indefinite suspension. This may have just been a unpunished warning. If you relist immediately, they will take harsher measures. This could include a selling restriction or indefinite suspension. I would not think you would be getting a letter from Adidas' attorneys, but if you persist, then I am sure you will. I am not an attorney, that is just my opinion.

Let me mention something else. If the fact of not knowing if you are getting a letter or not from Adidas put a giant knot in your gut, think about what it will feel like when you actually open one telling you to pay us or be ready for litigation. Don't take that as me being a smartass, it is not meant like that. I am just keeping it real.

It probably will not go any farther than the MC999 but if you are listing vero on an account with your legit contact information I suggest you stop that immediately.

Thanks for keeping it real. From what I can tell, I did not receive any suspension or listing restrictions beyond the three listings being taken down.

I know about people using stealth accounts, but don't you still need legit contact information for those, albeit with slight variations to the name and address (like the inclusion of a middle name, or a non-existent suite #)?

May I ask why? What address should I put down then? A PO box, or some variation of my address? And does this applies to only ebay, or do I include paypal as well?

Start with buying the stealth book, its a good starting point and cheap investment the rest we can help you out with, also there is a search function you can use as this discussion has been beat to death.

I did actually purchase the stealth book. It's a very precious source of information, but it basically tells you why you need a new address (new everything, actually) to create a stealth account. My current account is not stealth, and thus I'm wondering why I need to avoid using my real information, such as my address.

I tried searching for threads covering this topic, but I'm coming up against a brick wall on the search words.

why? because now you already have 1 warning and your a step closer to indefinite restriction. If you went stealth from the begining you could do as many mistakes as you want, to learn the system, and then when you 99% sure your ready, you can use your real information and increase your chances of success. Another huge advantage is that you can list much more and experiment more. If you can't understand this on your own, stealth is probably not for you.

and you don't need to worry about a company sending letters to your home if you are operating from a stealth address instead of your real one...

I think this alone is sufficient reason to get a stealth address.

I can't tell from the book, but if I'm solely concern with companies sending letters to me, do I need to apply the stealth address to paypal as well? Or merely applying it to ebay will be enough?

The problem is, you cant be 100% stealth, they can trace you by tracing where your payments go.

ebay and paypal info should match.

Address then would ideally be the same.
