Default New questions re: account linkage

Just signed up with a new account. That simon card worked like a champ. You guys know your s***.

2 questions come to mind:

1. I noticed there is a spot for your registration address, and your shipping address in "my ebay." My registration address is naturally my "altered" address. But for the shipping address, would it raise any flags if I were to make it similar to my real address so I can buy stuff? Do you guys think it would increase the odds of linkage, make the account more suspicious, or would it have no difference, or would it make it safer than having an address closer to my real one on my registration address?

2. What if just start selling on this account for a few months, and then change the address to something closer to my real one with just a "drive" at the end or a small mispelling? Would the fact that the account would be a few months old make it less susceptible to scrutiny?

3. Regarding paying your fees, I think many folks are a little nervous paying with PayPal, even using the one time payment option. There is something I have not seen discussed, and that is the PayPal Debit Card. I got one of those for my business. If I select a one time payment for my ebay fees, and select to pay by credit card, and enter my PayPal Debit Card account number, would that be any safer to avoid linkage? I assume them dudes will ask for the name on the account, which would be my real name. My name is rather unique, its not like John Smith or anything, its pretty damn unique. Would that raise flags given that my name is unique, or would it not matter? Your thoughts??

I can answer your part about 1 time payment. I've been paying my fees for months this way and haven't (so far) had any problem with linkage.

don't think there is the need to take out the paypal debit card

Saving 2 bucks is not an issue. Just wondering what all the alternatives are. Not that big a deal I suppose.

Not sure I understand your answer to # 2.

1) That's not a good idea. I'm sure eBay uses both in the same way and compares against any suspended address. Though you can try adding St. or drive at the end of your address, or add and extra "s" or whatever to elude eBay, but it's not a 100%.

2) Just as Modee said, eBay will basically keep your information forever. But if you're brave you can try the address endings, and misspelling. Age might be a factor, but I'm not 100% on that.

3) I actually think that will be okay. If eBay doesn't ask for you address, you should be able to use it with no problem. If they ask for your address, its better you pay with another card or login in to your Paypal account to pay.
