Default Selling off ebay

Hi i was contacted by a returning customer
on the private email and asked to sell something off ebay
at first i agreed and sent an invoice then i got a little paranoid that
ebay might catch the transaction on paypal since ebay owns paypal
i canceled the transaction after the guy paid and referred him back to ebay to make the purchase.
does anyone know if paypal reports to ebay on such transactions? is it even legal for paypal to disclose this information?
i am a little paranoid since my account was suspended and getting it back was not easy

Paranoid.
I would not conduct such transaction via ebay messages but in direct email, etc...what are you worried about?

Agree with James - keep the operation nice and make sure customer is happy with the invoicing and sending of item

thanks i hope this will go smoothly after all i canceled the transaction so eventually i did not really sell off ebay. i was a little worried since its the same email address used for payments on ebay transactions and this off ebay transaction. thought this might raise a flag automatically or something like that.
I just got my account back from ebay's limbo named seller vetting department after a month of suspension and a total of 8 hours on the phone with ebays customer support i would really hate to loose it again over some stupid thing like that

Hi,

Like i always say, Senior Members can explain things in a better way.
I can only share my experience as a seller .....
I send PP invoices all the time, reason - If the garment size in my store is not available and has to be done custom size, i refer them to PP invoice - as the they cant select that size from ebay listing dropdown, so it has to be custom order via PP Invoice.

I do exactly the same and have never had any problems. I sell high volume but low value items and sometimes I get buyers asking to buy in bulk to sell on themselves. They can see I've not got my items listed to buy in bulk and usually ask if I can send them an invoice. which I do through paypal. Nothing wrong with that I've not got the time to create an new listing everytime I have a different buyer request.

I think that there was no reason to worry, but I understand the reaction of dut90210, because so many people had bad experience with eBay and PayPal so it's good to be careful.
